I reckon you use that word after every game win or lose. Always something negative...
Did you not see what Port dished up?

The side needs to show four quarter efforts. It's been done once in two years. If you want to go nuts for ordinary wins, that's fine, but let's not pretend that was an impressive game in the second half. A lot of players just stopped.

first half was pretty good, then a lot of player put the cue in the rack.

Still, Palmer was good and Mzungu should get a full game next week.

A few of our players stopped. We lost a quarter which is inexcusable against that lot.

I'd probably agree if they had continued playing the same way as they did in the first quarter (inspidly) but they increased their intensity tenfold in the second half.

Whilst it's true we dropped off in the second half we still won the 3rd quarter, and lost the final quarter by like 5 points. Really not that bad.

After our last two performances, I'll take a 52 point win on the road every time.

Bring on the Saints please..

Even Jesse played ok !

Ordinary second half. We are lucky that was Port.

Just got home from watching at the pub, and I agree. Got to give some credit to Port though, they were still ordinary, but they were God Awful in the first half, they came out playing second half and played to the end. Given that, a good win is a win.

Also good game for a number of players that needed a confidence boost. Finishing off the game in style would probably have lifted the boys even more. But we'll take that right now. Saints next week will be very interesting, now that they've got their mojo going a bit - going to be tough, especially if 211 doesn't come up. Any post-game news on him yet?

Their intensity in the second half was better but not amazing. Certainly not the level that should see them outscore us. They picked holes in our defence a couple of times and moved the ball with zero pressure. Still plenty to tune up.

Agree. Its not just putting teams away, its getting into the habit of always continuing to push hard to put games away as well. So often in the past we have got to 20 or 30 points up in the third or last quarter and just stopped and either let teams back in to win or almost let teams back in to win.

I recall some opposition player last year mentioning in an after the game interview that "you always feel you're a chance with Freo even though you may seem out of it" - testament to our ability to put up the shutters when we get a few goals ahead.

... and we shouldn't have, we had about 2-3 easy chances in junk time to kick a couple but the disposal was just tired and off the mark. So yea, Port rallied, we played a 3/4 pace and we still only lost the one quarter by a kick. Not a bad day out, but it's not a ground breaking win either - I reckon that's a fair way to put it.

I thought it was a very good game - everyone contributed very well.

Lower exceptional. Fyfe as well though we are coming to almost expect it from him - what a fantastic 2nd year hes having. Palmer had an excellent game - definite confidence builder. Kep continues to get even better.

Damn, its nice seeing Mzungu playing again - he's going to deliver heaps.

Exactly the type of game and performance we needed - bound to lift confidence and helps those a bit out of form to lift, find themselves.

Nice to get some early goal accuracy.

About the happiest I've been all season - can really see where we are heading today, though opposition left a lot to be desired.

Only concern is Sandi - any news on him?? Missed the post match stuff.
