sure, unlike every-one else he decided to not kick it aimlessly into the 50. didn't work. oh well. had davey not fallen over in his chase it might not have happen. blame the team, not the player. we've been very bad and we can't blame 2 or 3 people.
he always kicks aimlessly, you are clueless phone if you can't see how useless he is with the ball in hand...

Re: GameDay thread V Richmond (Spoiler warning!)

hille just then...how many times have we done that tonight? kick it to one man on a lead? not very much. we've only just started doing it. we kick it to packs aimlessly, and it hasn't worked. we really need to fix it. we did it against collingwood, carlton and brisbane.

Really good point, hope this doesn't get lost among the repurcussions.

It's a nice little wake up call, I think. We'll have a good rest next week, hopefully Watson will be back and we'll be ready for Melbourne.

Very disappointing tonight.

Hocking should shoulder some responsibility for this loss.

Desperately needed another big body in the middle and turnovers cost us.

This break couldn't have come any sooner. We won't finish top 4 based on tonight that's for sure.

Beaten in the midfield, lost the game.

Not big surprise.

We were in the first. But we were even for the rest. The problem was what we did after we got the ball...I swear half the time we kick it into the 50 we're not looking when we kick it there. We just throw it onto the boot. We don't need to get it into the 50 quickly, we need to get it there smartly.

Umpires had nothing to do with this (although they weren't great). Got played, out worked and outperformed while carrying too many passangers
They played a huge role in depreciating our good form by not paying frees when we were playing well.

I had a feeling we wouldn't win this game, and the poor performances by many players didn't help us either. Shades of Knights-era.

You found time to blame Davey for the goal where he held up a man did not fricken jump on him, as you said, soft as 50 metres, so please assess Stantons game phone, let's see if you have a real opinion....

No I didn't. I shared the blame. Because both were at fault.

Stanton was very poor tonight but so were a lot of the rest. I'm not sure if he was playing a different role tonight or what but he wasn't running to his usual places and he didn't spend much time at centre square rucks. That said Jackson is a very good player so perhaps that was it. He had some bad kicks but I'd take kicks from players actually thinking than blind throws onto the boots.

Please you say quit it, them condemn many players, go on name names if you think there were many, I only saw 1.....

Crameri had very little influence.
Davey's first two plays resulted in frees against
Bellchambers was quiet
Reimers was subbed off
Ryder was extremely quiet

Also, Stanton provided some much needed clearances in the last quarter, it just seems like the haters are getting to him

FFS, we know he can run, so can Forrest Gump, he is a liability when he has the ball, how you can blame Davey for that 50 as opposed to the kick by Stanton is beyond me,,, very poor is over rating his game, he was pathetic and cost us big time, has to be dropped....Agree or do you think he did enough to hold his spot???

Senior players who were passangers tonight included Ryder, Stanton, Monfries, Reimers and to a lesser extent Davey.

Each of them had their moments but for the most part were well beaten and completly ineffectual.

Our much vaunted 'forward press' was absent for the majority of the night and the Tigers slaughtered us on the rebound. At times it was earily similiar to the Knights era with the lack of defensive presure. The amount of times the Tiges had numbers at the contest was astonishing.

Hopefully they can use the week off to get things back on track because they haven't been sharp in a while.

If he is weak enough for the haters to get to him, he is feeble, seriously how can you not be ####### off with his game tonight, he is a shocking user of the ball and should be playing at Bendigo, give Prismall or Dyson a go before him, and that is saying something....seriously the worst disposal I have seen all year, You rate Stantons last quarter yet bag Ryder....He was great in the last quarter, a hell of a lot better than number 5...

I shared the blame. Because both were at fault.

Paddy Ryder didn't enough to stay in the team. Neither did Tom Bellchambers. But we're not gonna drop either of those. Stu Cram was bad too. Davey did more harm than good when he came on - some will say "well duh, he never should have been picked over Dyson". Monfries was bad again. I thought Fletcher and Howlett were below par too. Myers should have been played in the middle too. but we didn't lose the game due to any of them. It was a bad team performance. Team. Not Stanton. And we lost because of flaws in our game that have cost us before. We need to start thinking before kicking in the 50. It cost us early against Collingwood and it cost us tonight. It's a team problem, and dropping one player isn't gonna fix it.

Forget poor midfielders and dodgy umpire decisions, until we come up with a forward-line set-up that works and allows for forwards to get clear and lead up, we won't be going anywhere fast. It's pretty hard for an on-baller to kick it to a forward when there ain't one free to kick to.

But then we could fix that by stop trying to get in there asap. Despite all the "we'll win if we get it in there fast" it seems to me if we slow it down we'd be better off. These guys have no intention to kick it to forwards on the lead. It's all about kicking to packs and hoping one of our rucks take a ruck and if it goes to ground Jetta, Zaka, Cram can do the job for them. But teams put a loose man down there and we're toast. If we slow it down perhaps the forwards can demand the ball to be kicked to them, instead of midfielders demanding forwards mark the ball.

Ryder's claim to fame in the last quarter was a very nice contested mark.
I could name the good parts out of all the players i said weren't good tonight but I'm not going to go and chastise Stanton for what was a poor team effort

Longdaveyjetta..

seriously shut the **** up. Its flogs like you who booed him and bronx cheered him that have destroyed his confidence.

We could have done with a gut running 30 possesion game but instead we get a confidence shot player who turns it over through indecision.

Your a dog.

Support your team and shut the **** up.
