Can ASADA sue Hird for defamation for accusing and even stating it was a fact that EFC handed over a spreadsheet to ASADA and they destroyed it?

Can ASADA at least sue Hird over accusations that ASADA carried out a criminal act by claiming they destroyed evidence?

Found that interesting. Surely doesn't say it on public record, so soon after the announcement of the appeal if there isn't some truth in if
 
Hird very disingenuous on 360. "They were found not guilty of taking TB4"

I think the suggestion is they didn't use it as part of their case, rather than destroying it.
Question is, what does a spreadsheets prove? One could have been kept and completely made up. Given a couple of days and a lot of coffee, I could make one up now

No, on 360 tonight, Hird said they handed over this spreadsheer and it wasn't them that destroyed it. When Robba asked commented that that was a big accusation, he said that it wasnt an accusation but a fact.

Key word is destroyed, he implied the spreadsheet was destroyed.

I suspect Whateley's questioning put him on the back foot and he said things he probably regrets. I suspect there will be fall out from it though. They can't let that go unchallenged.

I suspect ASADA will contact his lawyers pretty quickly and demand a public apology quickly or move to take action via the courts.

Expect a contrite Albert to front the media at Tullamarine in the next day or so, offer an apology and blame it on emotion, fatigue, and frustration and that he should not have agreed to go on the show in that state. He will then proceed to do what he always does and blame someone else, in this case Whately, for ambushing him when he was vulnerable.

Yeah. I sort of need to see it. Odd - maybe the idea was self protection like "I definitely thought it was thymomodulin and I saw a spreadsheet and all" and now he's talked himself into a position where it looks like he is accusing ASADA of destroying evidence. Unwise though. I expect he's realised that already. More so once the papers have arrived tomorrow.

Good player doesn't make him adept at life or socially intelligent, obviously. Even he admitted he's made mistakes, obviously he got challenged tonight, lost his cool, then made another one.

It didn't look like he was accusing them. He downright accused them.

That has been levelled at us a number of times. Sounded more like a cheap shot than accusing ASADA of destroying them. But I reckon he believes that this should prove what the players were given but ASADA didn't like it and didn't use it

I didnt read his comments that way. IMO he means the club handed over records but they were never taken into consideration by ASADA. He never actually said ASADA destroyed evidence

I agree he never stated it. I am also sure they would have been taken into consideration . It's not ASADA's job to raise the defense for the accused
