That's very harsh especially on Jnr. That family has achieved an absolute shitload in their life and not just Jnr, Snr and Nathan.
Charities are a lot better off with them around especially with Snr's past work. Yes he has screwed up plenty of times, but he has had his fair share of very good deeds, I wouldn't call the family a bunch of ****ups.
Nathan might be different in that he is quiet and doesn't care much for footy but so what?
Junior is so far away from a ****up its unbelievable. He has done very well for himself and especially with the media considering how much his other family members struggle with it.

Btw have you met the real world? How many families do you know that are 'normal' and haven't gone through some sh*t in their life?

I think if it happens it will be a situation where Geelong pay 500k and GC pay 500k and Geelong have to trade something half decent for GC to pay that 500k rather than getting Ablett in a Steve Johnson or Sam Mitchell style freebie trade. The AFL will be all over it and that seems the best way for everyone to save face. If GAJ digs the heels in and goes through the motions for this year and next to fulfill his contract GC will be complete poison. If I was Ablett and wanted to get to Geelong I wouldn't threaten them with retirement, I'd threaten them with hanging around like a bad smell.

Not to discredit your post in anyway, but to say a player is only on the same level as Pendlebury is a bit....odd. Pendlebury (whilst not as good) is still a very, very, very good player.

An AFL contract which - given the examples of Cam McCarthy, Tom Boyd and pretty much every sacked coach of the past two decades - isn't exactly the ironclad agreement most other contracts are.

I'm aware of Snr and his past and I'm aware of other things aswell. He hasn't been a saint and I'm certainly not
defending negative actions.
What I've pointed out is Snr has also done some very good things in the past aswell. It does not excuse poor behaviour, I'm adding balance. Some families have been through some good times with him going out of the way to help.
He has let himself down and unfortunately undone a lot of good.
