Now I am settled in Australia, it's time to return to Adelaide for my first Gather Round. I've got tickets to all five Adelaide Oval games and will be making the long drive from Geelong on Thursday. Are there any other interstate supporters on here planning to make the trek notwithstanding recent results?
Also doing the roof climb and hoping to go to the state game as well as check out the beaches and some nice scenery in the hills.
I'm staying outside the CBD as the hotel rates were extortionate but it seems a three-day visitor metro card is the way to go for getting to games but might have to take a taxi or two as well.
First time in the Riverbank Stand and I am in the Pepsi Collective. Not sure what to expect but couldn't get any other tickets. Really looking forward to being in and among everything and meeting lots of fans especially Crows fans and just talking footy.

If I park at the Festival car park at the casino for Saturdays double header, will I be able to get out easily after the game, or will there be road closures.

Thanks

From Wilson parking
Event days - Enter via King William Road prior to road closures. Entry is as per normal on event days via Montefiore Road. Exit onto Montefiore Road only

So if you get in before 12.30 you can enter by either Montefiore Road and King William, but after 12.30 only Montefiore Road and exit will be only Montefiore Road

Thank you for the excellent advice. I will enter via Montefiore Rd, that way I'll be parked near that exit to get out.

I need to go to Kingswood after the game, so will I be able to get their easily enough after the game, as I noticed the directions told me to take North Terrace, but I'm assuming that will be closed.

yes north terrace closed to king William (and a bridge takes you over north terrace anyway), so better to continue on Montefiore and that turns into Morphett, and then continue on morphett to south Terrace and turn left on south Terrace and then turn right at unley road to get to Kingswood

Thanks so much. I'll have my 83 year old mum with me, so I'd prefer not to have to catch public transport or walk too far.

Looks like if I have lunch at one of the Casino restaurants, I'll get free parking

Is it too late to post this.

Adelaide Oval will "deconstruct" the famous heritage-listed scoreboard for temporary Gather Round seating.

To cope with ticket demand, the 113-year old scoreboard will be REMOVED for temporary stands on The Hill, with 5,000 last-minute tickets on sale later this week.

Enjoy! I am in Adelaide atm visiting family for my Easter Break, I am absolutely spewing I am missing out on gather round, I was here (by pure accident) last year over it and it was such an amazing atmosphere. Nobody puts on a festival like SA can. I’m not sure about the metro cards these days and whether there’s greater value in a 3 day pass but you can use your credit card /debit card to tap on and tap off and you’ll automatically get the right fare.

Is it true (I hear) if you sing up for a bronze casino membership, at no cost, you’ll get free parking as well as 10% off all meals + drinks??

Bronze will get you 10% off food and drinks no cost, but free parking is going to cost 25 points, I’m assuming $1 spent is a point, so if you have something to eat and drink you should be ok.

Check when you sign up.

You get more discount and have to spend less to get parking but that will mean you need to gamble a bit, I mean lose a bit, to go up to higher membership levels

Did anyone see Izak Rankine sing at Footy classified live? So talented. If you haven't seen it they put it up on footy on 9 fb page

Just a heads up, the Festival Car Park is one of the worst designed car parks that I have ever parked in.

You almost need to be an expert in orienteering to find the exit and to find your car when you return.

I parked there once when I went to the Casino and have never gone back.

I would suggest parking at Topham Mall (it's only $7 for the whole day if you pre-book), but it's most probably a little too much of a walk for your Mum (13 mins), but it's far easier to access and get out of and you wont be affected by road closures. You come out of the carpark turn left and then right on King William Street and just follow it down to South Terrace or Greenhill Road turn left and then right on to Unley Road.

Dont get a visitor pass as your ticket to the games will get you free travel to and from the match.

Unless of course you are going to be doin other travel outside the football.
