You boys have to have a think about these odds before you post.

Bacchus Marsh, last 2 premierships, picked up players, best team in the comp, quite comfortably.
Woodend - played in 4 of the last 5 grand finals, always a powerhouse, doubt they will fall far as they know how to win
Riddell - only side in the last 5 years to compete with the above 2, still have the most damaging bowler in the comp.
Macedon - Always up and down out of Macs, still reliant on Belch making 100's
Gisborne - They last made the finals when? and have picked up who? Heavily reliant on the skipper who is however a gun bat.
United - Lost their strike bowler, probably slip back to middle of the pack
Rupo - Struggling this year, do compete well though
Romsey - Can't see much going right here this year.

Wallan's results in the B grade do show a big gap between the first 2 grades. Smashed Diggers who are always strong at that level.

well considering we only fell a few runs short of bacchus and beat romsey without belch in the team, and then made 270 against woodend with him only making 50, i suggest you should probably get your head out of the sand mate.

This is my predicted finish

Marsh- Too strong their past shows that

Riddell- Very dangerous and have key players that will fire also a good point by tweezers only side to compete with Marsh and Woodend

Gisborne- Skipper is in great form and bowlers are doing well

Rupo- Yes, they havent had the best start but do fight and once their batting order gets going and in some form along with their new coach who is spoke highly of and expected to perform they will be strong

Macedon- Early form shows they can match it with the McIntyre powerhouses and will be a good side, great depth in the side

Woodend- Top batting lineup but i find it hard to see how they are going to bowl out sides every week

United- Its hard with them without Hughesy this year and I dont agree with the side they have in at the moment.. a few players in the seconds should be playing 1s if they want success

Romsey- Just dont think this is their year!

well hughesy is back this week, so now it should be easy now yeah?

Umpire 22 - So you've beaten Romsey... Well Done... Have they won a game yet?

And then 270 vs Woodend = 220 without Belcher. I thought you were chasing 300+??

Maybe it was the extra 50 runs from Belcher to make his 100 that you needed?

congratulations, you must be a maths teacher.......

I believe romsey finished in the 4 last year, can only really gauge it on that, and we've played, and been more than just competitive, against 2 teams that more than likely will fill the top 2 spots.

To say that we rely on belch is a rather short sighted statement, from someone who is obviously from outside of the club. Take it from somebody from inside the club, our short comings don't lie in our batting department.

Need to fly Keaney in to bowl his spin . . .

Riddell $51.00

And another unbeaten ton today for Simon Harmon (thats over 300 runs not out in his last 2 knocks).

Gee umpire, he must be the luckiest cricketer around
You can always tell a jilted or naive cricketer when he doubts the abilities of other players before congratulating them(ump22), who cares if he was grassed 7 times u twat how many runs have u made this year???
Congrats to lancefield D grade for beating united, hesket now sit top of the ladder with a game in hand....Go the hekie.

Think you've taken what i said the wrong way, simmo is one of my best mates, and he deserves all the praise he gets. An almost flawless innings yesterday apart from a couple of plays and misses early he didn't give us a chance. Unfortunately for the gisborne boys those around him couldn't get the job done.

Yes i hear Hesket is going well this season but surely they will come unstuck against a renewed Woodend who only lost to Gisborne by 6 runs.

Rupo are way too short at $12. They should be level with Riddell at $51. My reasoning - That lot can't bat to save themselves! And as for their "highly thought of coach", apparently he has had a falling out with a senior player who was not happy about being dropped. Maybe the wheels are getting a little wobbly down there??

Dont know about that $51?? Riddell belong at $51, heard wadden is finished due to an injury (No wadden no riddell). Rupo may float out a bit when the two dayers come round again if there bats dont fire, dont they have the bowling to counter it? Who got dropped? Probably some spas coming off 3 ducks!!! :)!

More interestingly i heard the most talked about man in the comp James Hughes is making a return to cricket this weekend!!! Whats going on there?

Hughsey actually played last week mate and will be much better for the run. Wouldn't suprise at all if he got 4+ wickets against Rupo this week.

And no it wasn't a "spas" coming off 3 ducks it was a bowler who had got 3 consecutive "2 fors" (my cricket website - great for stats!!!). This comes on top of two blokes getting cleared to Gisborne after a run in with the coach.

I wouldn't go writing Wadden off just yet - class is permanent!!
What price is Harmon to get 3 tons in three games???

Dont worry mate i'll make sure we pitch it up 2 u on saturday, but to be on the safe side you'd better wear a helmet

This would be how I would think the market would look.

Bacchus Marsh $1.20
Woodend $3.80
Gisborne $5.20
United $9
Macedon $21
Riddell $30 - subject to wadden's fitness
Rupo $100
Romsey $500

I'm no bookmaker though, did this more to indicate Bacchus Marsh's apparent current dominance

The marsh definitely look very good this year, whilst at the other end of the list i think everybody would agree to write Romsey off , their attitude towards there cricket isnt a very good standard at all.
Though having a very slow start to the year, i disagree about rupetswood i watched the game at Gisborne earlier in the year between Gisborne and Rupetswood and i saw alot of potential in both of the teams, in saying that i dont no much about this "highly talked about captain" alot of talk but no performance yet. it was nice to watch simmo make another 100 on the weekend , very talented cricketer he has a good head on him , i look forward to another 100 this week.

Not nice to hear about a falling out between a rupetswood player and captain though does anybody have more details.????

I had a thought about the odds i revised them, i have watched nearly every team this year and this list is very accurate:

The marsh $4.00
Gisborne $8.00

Rupetswood $12.00
United $25.00
Riddell $70.00 - 20.00 with wadden
Woodend $71.00
Macedon $100
Romsey $1,000,000 - due to player discipline won’t get them anywhere

Georgie Rio - Dont know where you guys from Sunbury get your info but i'm actually not playing C Grade this week. I'm actually going in for a very serious operation.

How about you tell me who you are though, so i can warn my team-mates to wear a helmet when you bowl... I'm sure they'll be absolutely packing their pants...

Monkeymate - Those odds are an absolute joke. The Marsh are surely closer to $1.50 favourites. Doubt any team will trouble them this year. How do you have Woodend at $71? Lost by 10 runs to Riddell first week with severely undermanned team, won the next two (held Rupo to 111 with apparently useless bowling attack and beat Macedon(Currently Top 4 and beat Gisborne($8??))). I do concede that we have a depleted squad with a few players out this year. This gives the younger players a great chance to step up and fill the gaps. Some may say the "Poly Filler" of previous years has done quite a good job recently. Surely Woodend's performance and future isn't as bad as $71...

Sounds like you have a bit of a thing for Woodend, What happened? Got teased by Gardsy one time? Got smacked around by Wazza? Dont see how you would associate Wazza and Show Pony unless something happened. Seems as though you're still a little bit bitter about something though...

Georgie rio aint from sunbury mate, he's from tora mifu and dont worry about warning your teammates about his bowling, they wont see the ball for his pure pace anyway....good luck with ur serious operation.

Yeah thats right, though i'm abit worried about the thought of Tufnell and Trout bowling in tandem, with Tapas's left arm swing to come next, some serious planning has to go into the biggest local derby of the GDCA

I just assumed he was from Sunbury as thats who i was supposed to be playing this week. Oh well my mistake.

So you guys must be from Hesket D Grade then... And Georgie Rio is going to bowl so quick that they wont even see it... I better warn Tapas and Dan that you are going to bowl. What about you Eveready76, are you going bowl that quick, or are you a batsman?

Don't know if it really is the biggest local derby in the GDCA. Really its Hesket 1st vs Woodend 3rds... I would have thought maybe Rupo vs United in McIntrye rates a bit higher than D grade? Just my thoughts though...

Interesting results over the weekend.
Revised market for Macs

The marsh $1.40
Gisborne $ 2.80
Rupertswood $10.00
United $14.00
Woodend $38.00
Riddell $50.00
Macedon $60.00
Romsey $1001

no you are right its not an important match at all, probly Wallan versus Ashfield more of a derby. I wouldnt even bother to look at the results in the free papers they shove in your mail box
