some nice cheap shots there guys, kev might have a bit to say out there, but you all no he can bat, and forr a couple of yrs, along with 1 or 2 others held that side together.....

Barker is all mouth, from what a mate tells me he wouldnt survive on turf. But interesting to see them knock off Romsey "the one day specialists".
My tips-
Flag - Gisborne
Shock- Woodend and United miss finals.
Spoon - Romsey (if Rupertswood can beat them)

Not sure about a flag for the Dragons this year but things are looking good for the future the Mcyntre side had two 14 year olds in it this week.

Hello all,
Welcome to H grade cricket where every body is a winner, but Tylden will come out on top and win the flag!
Just like to throw it out there that Tylden has recruited former left arm chinamen spinner sean sturrock who goes to school with club president Rory Healy, word on the grape vine is that sturrock will be given a large sum to play down there, the reason tylden has recuited is because they are looking at playing A grade within the next few years. Tylden has also recruited a sub district 1s batter from werribee who played at 14 years of age by the name of travis dean. He represented Victoria and Australia at under 16s level sp expect the tigers to come out with a ROAR!!!!

Any other clubs recruited well???

Welcome to GDCA cricket suggest you check the rules about payed players before your stay is short.

If you can't win H Grade take up bowles or golf.

Travy Dean playing H grade for Tylden ? That should be illegal.

I find this very unlikely

Tyldens 1st game in the gdca started off with a bang. The tigers batted well against the marsh making 9 for 268 with rodney clifford making 64, rory healy getting 55 and john richards chipping in with 34 and the rest of the boys chipping in with 20s. Tragedy was peter healy, the clubs president went down with a popped knee and it wouldnt go back in. was taken to hospital and scans are yet to be revealed. he retired hurt on 5.

Where was Dean? Ha! would probably scratch around 800 in McIntyre a year!

Good to see young skipper Healy chip in with a few, good start. Disappointing for Pete, good man.

J. Guzman also showed a promising start to his cricket career and will definitely prove himself when he bowls next week!

Bit harsh on poor old Kev there, I know it's nice to see the man make a duck, but surely he is only the GDCA's 2nd fav bloke, behind the ROCKETMAN!! :thumbsu:
The greatest thing to every crawl out of the bush surrounding Colac, so he says.

Mmmmm.. Rocketman? Would that be The Marsh's second best keeper Rocket? Yeah, heard there is a chance he is the GDCA's "favourite" bloke!!! Give Barker the runners up in that award then......... or is there someone else???

No offence boys, but i cant believe H grade gets so much of a mention, or should i say Tylden H grade. Dont get me wrong, i know it is the same game, however i thought the higher grades would dominate the thread.
Here's a thought- best three bats in the league. Go for it. Know some of the names, but havent seen much of this comp in the last 5 or so years. Enjoy!!!

Belcher, Lalor, Huddle? Huddle is certainly the most dangerous. Can take a game off you in 10 overs.

For mine, the best quick bowlers is Wadden and the best spin bowler is the Marsh's Holt. Not sure if either of those are playing this season.

haha yeah i didnt think it was true...theres no way we will lose to lanny the got smacked around for 360 on the weekend. macedon will be the team to beat this year.

True, the Lanny thirds might struggle, but the firsts and seconds should dominate. Is Trev Shipp playing Macedon H-grade? Remember that game at Clifford where I took that ripper one hander off his batting at short mid-wicket? Then you and me opened the batting that evening, did a great job only for you to go out with about 5mins before stumps. I think I went on to make 60-odd. Probably the best game I played for Lanny.

haha yeah kenny johnson is skipper of the 3rds haha what a pissa!! yeah trevs playing he took 4 for 20 or somehting like that. i dont think we have the bowling attack to get him out haha. yeah i remember that catch wasnt too bad but remember at lanny that day when he was on 167 and i bowled him around his legs?? haha best wicket ive ever taken. yeah i think i chopped on about 5 times that year and of course it had to be 5 minutes before stumps haha.

Haha. You may have bowled him around his legs (good nut) but I think Mr Shipp still took honours that day. Is Kenny really captain of the thirds? That is a little bit sad. You should get my brother to have a trundle down there at Tylden. Would make a great first slip and good number 4 bat.

haha yeah dead set hes captain. im also gunna root his daughter haha. mate we are always looking for new talent at the club but out top 5 batting positions are sealed at this stage. we do need a keeper but. you should come down and keep for us pickles then that will allow me to hve a bit of a trundle.

Yeah its bloody hot here mate. Haven't had a day udner 35 degrees the last couple of weeks. All is good though, job is pretty good too. Saw that Skin made a ton, the opposition mustn't be much! Although if you're bowling those pies that some call leg-spin then Woodend may just get the 270 required.

What's happening at the McIntyre end? I saw Dolf Reid, Andy Moore, Azza Ryan and Brent Bovell all played in the ones first week. Must be slim pickings down there. I reckon you would have been half a chance.

I've been looking at joining a team up here. Went to training a couple of times but the shoulder is still crook and I don't like the idea of playing in 45-degree heat when I could be sitting in the local having a couple of quiet ales. Still I have the whites here and may have a game or two. Very quick outfields out here. The average score in the one-dayers is 300 in 40 overs!

Did I hear correctly, 0-24 off two overs yesterday? Wow, I can't believe you hung on to victory! Luckily you had a REAL spin bowler in Coxy. He'll be stuffed today though after 23 overs. Even Jedwab had decent figures for that small ground.

It's good to see both Romsey and Lancefield have their own junior football teams, but I think the Tigers might struggle with some of the older ages. Hopefully no kids are lost to footy because of it. How are the junior Redbacks shaping up? Who will be the first president? You might be the candidate. What else is news down there, who is coaching Romsey next season and is there a light at the end of the tunnel?
