Ashfield's C-Grade And E-Grade r both in a grand final this week the club only has 1 premiership Big Game for the club

They won't need to build a bigger trophy cabinet this week either. Their C-grade side got bowled out for 46 today and their E-graders were dismissed for a meagre 44. Can't think of too many chokes bigger than that.

Maybe a record for the quickest ever Grand Final yesterday at Gardiner reserve with the Gisborne u16s rolling Rupo for 73 in 23 overs then went in and knocked the score off in 7 overs

Who got the wickets & runs ???
Any stars of the future there that we can keep an eye out for ???
Son of a gun - Jakson Knight 41no and a 2 fa. Follows his 59no in the semi and 3 tons for the year.
He is celebrating another Grand Final win today with the Greenvale 1st 11

Had the double last year as well with Gisborne 16's and Gisborne Mcintrye both winning flags.

Very handy for a 15 year old

Speaking of McIntyre, the mighty Sunbury United have finally brought the flag home. Well done lads. With the C Grade flag it makes for some fairly large celebrations tonight! Also good to see nothing is changing down at Diggers being bowled out for 108. :D

Good kid !
Well done Jako. :thumbsu:
Had the privilege to play my last game in anger, with both him & his old man when our top side was a little light on. & to top it off we got up against the Marsh. Which is always a tough gig. So I knew first hand that the young bloke was gunna make his mark BIG.
The lad has talent to burn for sure & will certainly see many more flags in his career. ;)

Well done to SUCC. Hughesy would have to be a roaring favourite to win the Sullivan Medal wouldn't he?
Will winning the Mac cup be the last hurrah for Jimmy Hughes and Steve Grey? They have both talked about retiring for a few years now.

They will probably tell everyone that it is, but come next season get the itch and come back again. Either way it is just reward for both of them as they have invested a lot of time into improving the club as a whole.

Boys i reckon if the 2 of them were asked now they would say yes, best thing that United can do is leave them alone as they are enjoying the moment ..... And probably will for the next month.... Good luck to both of them No Matter what they do as they have both contributed heaps over the years.:thumbsu:

I'll have $100 on United, $150 on Macedon, $100 on Romsey, $50 on Rupertswood and $50 on the Marsh.

Total outlay: $450.

If United win - No profit, no loss
If Rupo win - $25 profit
If Romsey win - $200 profit
If the Marsh win - $250 profit
If Macedon win - $3300 profit
If Gisborne, Riddell or Woodend win - $450 loss.

Lucky you aren't a bookie :D

$450 of bet laid - United win - payout $450. Will take the interest off the top and come out a slight winner. Will watch the odds a little closer next time round.

Interesting GF games across the board. Unusual so many games decided in the first two days. Lots of footy clubs will be happy to cover pitches and get players back..... poor ashfield, both teams got smashed??

Shame about diggers, seem they just can't hold a stick in a GF. Wallan pretty short square of the wicket, one would think the burra would chase down 180 pretty comfortably.

East Sunbury should move up quickly through the ranks.

Where are clubs at in the seasons wash up??? Who is coming, who is going? Word on the street is that Gisborne are going to ask to get relegated as Harmon is moving on and the rest of their first XI is moving to Macedon???

now that the season is over where are people's clubs at?

Ashfield shattered after grand final dissater club had a big year on/off field just 1 weekend stuffed it up should be proud but have 2 learn how to bat in grand finals.
Should be good year next year 3 teams big possibility

Don't know about Red Hot favourite, he got Grey and Harmin by 1 VOTE on the last game of the season before the wash out. Very close vote count. Think they have the vote count wrong. I think they should break the count up into 1/4's so that all the people attending hang around till the end. There weren't a lot of people left at the end of the night, and it would've been better for the organisers.

wonder if Hesket will make the move and play C grade?, will weed out alot of the also rans..... can think of at least 3 that wouldnt be good enough.

Well well,

Before we know it another season will be upon us. Most club's guns will have decided where they are at next season? What is your club doing????

My mail is the following.... believe it or not.

Approx 1/2 of the Woodend XI are heading elsewhere after their demotion to the B grade ranks. Kyneton, Macedon and Tylden are rumoured to be the favoured clubs atm.

S Harmon from Gisborne is heading O/S- leaving the dragons hanging on the brink of demotion...Massive hole to fill, the club would have to recruit significantly to replace this one. Also, just quietly, perhaps a few more dragons are going to bolster the Macedon first XI.

K Barker - after years of being the faithful son down at Rupo, the man that wears his heart on his sleeve is heading elsewhere. Would be considered a significant lose for a club light on for bats that can penetrate the jungle.

Riddell – going to secure some significant batting, along with the return of Wadden will see the bombers return to Macs finals without a doubt

United- will have to fill some large holes to go back to back.

Romsey – making up numbers.

Marsh- once a force, now a number. Bye bye rocket??

Dont know anything bout Wallan??

Macedon- might benefit geographically being located between Woodend and Gisborne, two clubs falling apart??

And just quietly. Over the next 3 years watch Sunbury East come from no where to be a big player.

Tylden, don’t waste the GDCA’s time.

Hesket, feed that friendly roo for me.

Riddell, great value bet for the flag @ $18.00

Thoughts?
