Other than it being your old stomping ground, any good reason why you decided to ditch the Lions? Political ambitions, maybe...

Gee L.K.(or is it now T.K.?), think someone might have you pegged for pre selection in Corangamite! Good win by the Tiges first up. Unfortunately the boys from Winter Resort couldn't get up in a cracker at Windy Hill. I think they may suprise a few sides this year. A lot harder at the pill than they were last year. Matt Murphy led from the front, gun recruit Jake Roberts showed a lot of class and may be a smoky for the Whitley medal and Brad Edwards continued on his brilliant form from last year.:thumbsu:

Great win for North Geelong on the weekend, great to see. Not trying to take anything away from North but Inverleigh may have taken a few steps backwards this year. Time will tell. Have heard Jace Kelly hurt his knee pre season and will miss a fair few weeks for Inver. Tough start to the year with Werribee at Werribee, Belmont, BPH, East, Thomson and Corio in the next 5 weeks. Could possibly be 0 - 6.

inverleigh were very ordinary after 1/4 time, the team they had in should hav got the job done but u could tell north wanted it more. in the first 1/4 it looked like inverleigh would run away with it easily but they just stopped after the break. from wot people tell me Inverleigh were missing 7 or 8 key players, put those back in the team and im sure they will be alot better side. they had 4 kids on debut and 5 or 6 debuting 4 the club but that was no excuse. north were the better team on the day 4 sure, the hawks could very well be 0-6 which i really hope isnt so but it could be. north geelong r definatly not goin 2 finish bottom like they were picked 2 in the paper could suprise a few sides this year, there win however was soured by some of there supporters at the end of the game north should show those people the door people like that just give the club a bad name, wasnt there wen it happened but heard bout it after, from wot i was told the north geelong president wasnt happy

can you shed any light on what they did?

also does anyone know who's training tonight? (could be mucked up by the easter break that's all, was thinking of going out to north and having a look if they are training)

I think Corio lost to an undermanned Bannockburn side on saturday, Missing: Woods, Lewis, Fisher, Kolleger and Hickleton. Bannockburn are definately the ones to beat this year, and although i should hate Inva, they did have a lot of injuries on Sat and i think North were very enthusiastic youngsters that might drop away, With Kelly, Muir, Big O.Lewis, Hill, Quinlivian, Crerar, Hutchison and Booth to come in they will be a much better side. Although they will be weaker then last year still.

Watched Winch v West friday night and wished i hadnt, Winch have improved but that wasnt going to be hard from last year, but it was a sloppy very slow unskillful game that i wish never to see again. Winch did have some good players, the big ruckman, no. 9 and 8 and Ryan Tench looks the goods.

I heard you give your GDFL wrap on "Pulsating Sports" on 94.7FM at 8pm last Sunday night Bourkey, and it was, to put it mildly, utterly brilliant.

You really know your stuff when it comes to both GDFL and TAC Cup Under-18s. I hope you'll start getting some GDFL figures on for interviews during Pulsating Sports, "Spider" Brady would be a good one to start with, he also seems to know his stuff.

I'd suggest being the first game of the season and under lights it was always going to be a scrappy game. Not to mention the Winch boys hadn't played together before and the West boys are pretty young.

The ruckman is Warren Attrill. Played with Winch last year and played well but could only do so much with the players around him. Former Kolora-Noorat ruckmen.

Don't know if Randall's from your fan club, Bourkey, or mine! Just goes to show, if you dribble it enough, people will eventually believe you:D.

abusing some of inverleighs players as they were goin off wont go into any details bout wot was said but it was very wrong.
there is also a few others 2 come in from the names u mentioned geelongfooty and crerar probably isnt goin 2 play this year from wot i hear, but all those players back in they wont be an easy side 2 play, i would imagine they would still be pushing 4 finals

there is a old saying what goes around comes around. inverleigh supporters and players dished out a lot of s##t last year.

yer players get abused all the time but they dont often get abused after a game walking off the ground wen theres no reason 2. theres no reason 2 bring family members into it either. dont know much bout wot your talkin bout wot happened last year but nothing warrants wot was said last saturday

After the Belmont/ Inva game last year at Belmont, I don't know if I would be saying too much more about this if I were you. Got to agree with an earlier post about the way some Inva supporters give it out. People in glass houses....

I won't go into to much detail, but needless to say it took 3 other footballers to stop Haami after an idiot redneck had been at him all day and then after the siren. This peanut(and a couple of his mates) continued on until 1 or 2 of the Belmont supporters had finally had enough and dealt with them. This sort of crap is a blight on the game. I understand people pay their $5 to get into a game and have the right to say what they want(within reason), but if they have to wait until after the game, when no doubt they have had a few jars of dutch courage, they should just stay home. As for the comment that was made, "it's only Clayton Trotter so who cares", it shouldn't matter who it is. Clayton has copped alot over the years, rightly or wrongly, but I can tell you he is always the first into the opposition rooms and generally the last to leave(atleast at Belmont anyway). I always love the fact that people feel they can comment on any situation, especially those who have played their best football from the clubrooms side of the fence:thumbsdown:.

thanks 4 that, but im sure belmonts side of the story is different 2 inverleighs, i dont know who haami is cause i havent followed gdfl 4 a few years but nobody went after the people that said wot they said at north geelong, so either this haami bloke has a pretty sort fuse or wot was said 2 him was pretty bad, can u say or do u know wot was said to him, could be an interesting match between belmont and inverleigh this year. spot on wot u said about trotter though

Always interesting matches between Belmont and Inva. Fair bit of history there. I was the pres of Belmont at the time and I will tell you in no uncertain terms that there is only one way to tell this story. As Bourkey said, Haami cops alot and very rarely retaliates. I am not going to repeat what was said because it was disgraceful. I know alot of the Inva blokes tried to shut this idiot up, but he took no notice. Every club has these sorts of blokes that ruin the reputation of the rest of the club.

Haami Williams is one of the nicest blokes you'll ever met, he just doesn't put up with unneccessary crap:thumbsu:

So mate, as was suggested in an earlier post by Randall, when are you and I going to get together for a Sunday evening chat?

You call yourself GDFL4eva but you don't know who Haami is? Interesting.

well i hav just heard a completely different side of the story i rang a mate that i play cricket with that follows belmont a bit and is a former player there and he said wot was said was nothing at all, he said there was something 1000 times worse said at a game against north geelong a week or so b4 that made the paper and all and he said haami didnt even approach the guy from north geelong. so can u say wot u heard was said against inverleigh cause i dont know wot 2 beleive at the moment, my mate told me that the bloke yelled out something like game over in the last 1/4 and haami just lost it, maybe this haami bloke thought something else was said, cause wot is wrong with game over

mate as i said i havent been following the gdfl 4 a few years, last time i seen belmont playing there was no haami running around 4 the lions, but i havent seen belmont play 4 probably 4 years

Got a name? What was said at the Nth game was also disgraceful. Yep it made the papers. The reason Haami didn't react is because he didn't hear it. His brother did. Again, I love it when blokes say they are in the "know" because they once played at a club. I'll let you know that I was in the middle of it trying to calm the situation down during the last quarter. I may be going blind, but there is nothing wrong with my hearing. Take that as fact

I would have thought the continued use of the word 'wot' would have given it away before the Haami thing.

Also, his abhorrent spelling, poor grammer and complete lack of any punctuation all may have been key factors in deducing that this bloke is an utter spud.

He also may be 12.

Ah, school holidays.
