Blue west got over imps by about the same amount this time last year and a few weeks ago did a number on them one Friday night just remembered they are just Practice matches. This season is looking closer then last year with any side getting up on their day. Maybe nth leading the pack with a bit of a gap.
 
Are there any clubs playing decent completion? Bfl gfl or even ballarat? East played werribee district, north played north shore & BPH played bell park.. Surely there the only 3 that are going to stand out this year
 
Belmont Lions 19.9 d Colac Imperials 13.10, both teams nearly at full strength, only 3 or 4 missing from round 1 teams.
Really good game to watch, the Colac committee bloke said they are looking at top 3 so Belmont will be an improved team this year.
How good is hard to say, the top five could look like this: North, East, Winch, BPH and Werribee? Anyone agree or tip a smoky for the finals?

Any other practice match results from the weekend?

Wouldn't read into it to much, shit league & last years sides north or bph would give Lorne a hiding. Good for the league & Belmont that there've improved but it's just a praco!
 
Who cares how Werribee went it's only a praco & you can't read too much in to the results apparently!

Not happy the voice?? Belmont have one 2-3 games in 12 months including pracos. Counts for nothing unless they can prove every one wrong like west & winch last year. Corio west Thompson & Anakie. I'd say they would be 1 win & 3 after round 4 & a sneaky chance to be 2 & 2. Just saying

Seriously though, who wants to play pracos? No one! No one wants to get injuries,no one gets paid! Only benefits are for the fringe players to try crack into the side & players getting a bit of match fitness.. **** playing 2-3 pracos then 18 games plus inter league & finals. Long year

Must say pracos IMO don't mean anything, gets that little match fitness in, get a few knocks but means a lot more to bottom of the table then the top. Players don't get paid, injury risk. fringe players do get a chance to shine and get a game round 1 though. Personally if I was confident enough in my teams abilities id sacrifice a little match fitness rounds 1-4 and back them in with no pracos just a few intraclubs, saves a bit of wear and year and it is a long season, but maybe that's why I'm not a coach

Hey mate I was just curious as to how they went as O/Grove play in the league I follow. No one here was reading anything into anything.

I have. I am not debating whether they are of benefit or not. I was purely asking for a final score for that game as I was interested.

The season is nearly here, should be an interesting year, good luck to all the GDFL clubs.
David Mensch video interview is up on K-Rock footy with Kingy if you want to see how Winch are shaping.
Early rounds 1 and 2 should be interesting before the Easter Bye, tough start for the Anakie Roos and Inverleigh Hawks.

Winch v Bannock
Anakie v North

East v Thomson
Corio v Belmont
West v Werribee ???

Werribee v Anakie

North v Winch ??? should be a ripper
