Hello David, do you know how it actually works eg 1 point for a junior player etc what is the other criteria or points breakdown?

Hi punchy. I don't know the ins and outs.
Basically
6 pts AFL player
5 pts vfl
4 pts tac cup/ top 5 in club bnf at GFL club
3 points senior player GFL BFL GDFL cdfl
2 pts reserves player
1 point junior player
Add 1 point for anyone crossing from a GFL club or swapping in the same league.
Subtract 1 point for every year of service at that club.

That is how I read it. It will take a few years to have a affect on the top clubs like north and BPH as they have been together for a number of years. I think you will find clubs will target junior players playing at other clubs. You just wonder why the clubs didn't look after the junior players years ago. Now they will be a priority to get them back.

Bloody Hell, I am all for the points system but it will surely make picking the teams on a Thursday night a difficult exercise ...... thanks for the feedback lads.

How do people think inverliegh and bph finish up tomorrow? With the other games all one sided on paper bar maybe geelong west suprising weribee. Who wins 1st v 2nd.

Both sides have a couple guys out and whoever wins will be top spot with the first week off in finals. Bph is a big ground so from what ive read in the paper from the hawks coach them being the fittest side in the competition should hold them in good stead but bph havnt lost at home for 5-6 years or something ridiculous. I think bph take the win, lot of people again might be wrong writing them off

Inverleigh will get a rude awakening tomorrow I think Hill to continue unbeaten run at home. Werribee will flog West, Rest all one sided

They did tigertamer. First of all its a blight on the league that first vs second is not match of the round. Inexcusible.

After a first quarter full of mistakes inberleigh got a jump on bph. But after qtr time bph outscored inverligh 14 goals to 4. Mcdowell has been very aggressive in the way he has spoke about inverlieghs fitness and how they overrun every side so will be interesting the response to that. Umpires paid every nook and cranny, probably to bph's favor to an extent. Not match defining by any means. I think inverlieghs glaring weakness is a big body to play on tarr. Especially out one on one at big stalbans. In saying that, they dropped players back with good effect at stages. When does huybens return?

Interesting to see Brad Huhn's suspension for another 3 weeks puts him at 4 games until he is deregistered. I saw the hit on Sunday and it was a cheap shot right in front of the umpire and the crowd. The bloke is a peanut and I don't know why anyone would want him in their side.

Yeah I also witnessed it not sure what the guy was thinking, it was over nothing. Huhn can play but he needs to cut that crap out of his game

Heard an interesting whisper that Winch has been In talks with several Torquay players with Troy Bird a massive chance to join Adam at the blues next season...

I will be interested to see how the points system will affect recruiting though.

Think that whisper was around 12 months ago as well and he was offered the assistant coaching role that Adam ended up taking. Won't happen and wouldn't be surprised if Adam retired at seasons end and Carracher left Winch to go back to Torquay.

I didn't think I would ever say this but ..... "GO HAWKS !" signed Leo the Lion (and punchy)

I think the Hawks will win and belmont will take 5th spot. Belmont have had a dream draw. Thomson will be very stiff to miss the finals. The top 3 are a class above banno Thomson and belmont, They will be making up the numbers come finals time.

David,i have to totally agree with you unfortunately,Belmont and Thomson would both be making up numbers in the finals.I witnessed Belmont first hand today and based on the second half against Anakie i would feel Bannockburn will end Belmonts season in round 18,by in excess of 30 points

Did Belmont have a few players out on the weekend? I noticed Leamer didn't play.
Belmont will beat Winch and North will beat Thomson making round 18 Belmont Vs Banno a dead rubber then they will meet in the Elimination final.

And David if you feel thats how the cards will fall,do you think rnd 18 both Bannockburn and Belmont will field there best 22 possible or do you think there will be players rested from both sides ? Would you be showing your hand in rnd 18 knowing you front up to each other in the Elimination final ?

Leo you would think anyone player has a sore spot they won't play. maybe give coggs a few more beers and he can make the quarters 10 minutes no time on. I am sure banno would be happy to call the game off. It would be a hard game to play for both clubs knowing they have nothing to play for.

Do you flirt with your form ? Or should they put there best possible 22 on the park ? Would it be a psychological advantage to the team that wins rnd 18 ? if they were to be going back to back the following week.Anyhow if Thomson can repeat there result with North from earlier in the season, then we may well be asking questions that are absolutely irrelevant !!!!

Yes Leo no point putting the horse before the cart. I would think Belmont would take some confidents into the Elimination final if they win rd 18 as they haven't beaten any other finals team.
I seen on the krock facebook page a picture of Leamer in a sling. Is this a season ending injury? If so that's a massive loss.

Hello Leo or punchy are you there? Is leamer out for the year? Or back for finals?

Hi David, Leo has been sacked for saying Belmont would be just making up numbers so I will answer on behalf of him, good observation noticing Leamer in the sling in those photos on Krock, i love watching him but his shoulder is a minor strain so he will be rested for Winch and should be fine for finals.
Unless new recruit Blake kicks 10 for Thomson ??? and they beat North round 18 is a dead rubber, Belmont and Bannock should just split the points and share a beer in respect to the legend Billy Caldow (RIP) then do battle in the elimination final.

Thanks for the update. That's a shame about leo but they are making up the numbers the top 3 are a class above the rest.

I am biased but with our young quick kids on the big St Albans oval I reckon we can beat Banno and scare the shit out of Inver and win that one too..... or go close BUT BPH v North grand final again this year.
