Disability meaning - lack of adequate power, strength, or physical or mental ability; incapacity.

Haha, how do you feel loosing to people with "disabilities".... as you call it?
:thumbsu:

Please don't be weak..

north geelong are the benchmark so far this season and will be hard to beat as the year progresses, however anything is possible and the premiership isn't theirs yet

number 31 from bannockburn was a standout on the weekend, played a very good game and was seemingly everywhere, their captain number 2 was solid in the second half after returning from concussion however he has played much better games in previous matches and seasons!
Didnt see number 2 do anything and I wouldnt say that 31 was a standout

Ok my tips are:

Bellpost over Winch 6 goals
Tompson over Corio 1-2 goals
North over Werribee 5-6 goals
Banno over Belmont 7 goals
Inverleigh over east 1-2 goals

a few good games this round :thumbsu:

looks about right...except i rekon north might be closer to 15 goals and banno belmont should be a close one

North ran away with it again. 10 points at half time, 44 by the final siren

Although Centrals had a weaker side this time it was definitely a much better game. Didn't help having two players sent off though. Will be looking for the win at home.

North look the best by far though ATM.

I was at the Centrals and North Geelong match and i dont think that the performances from either side on the saturday just passed could be said to have been anywhere near either sides best. Both sides seemed extremely flat at crucial periods of the match, especially North who really need to work on their match enthusiasm. North were a fired up side last year and it is disappointing to have seen them lose that spark which really created alot of fire for their talented lineup last year.

Centrals have had a mental edge over north these past couple of seasons and i do believe the way that North react whenever Centrals score makes North look like the losing side. If North can get some of their top age players together and get momentum behind the whole team i do believe that the North Geelong outfit will be firing a hell of alot harder than what they displayed on the weekend which was below standard.

Centrals have got the fire but just need to work on discipline and skills. Too many unforced and unpressured skill errors in 3 or 4 on 1 contests in their favour were thrown away due to rushed kicks or handballs. Centrals may be working with not much more than a mental edge over the competition but if they can get some more structure then they could be the ones to knock North of their perch.

As for the banter about this #11 for Centrals causing trouble for the North Geelong forwards. . . North Geelong display all of their talent through a not so graceful but sturdy back 6 and a high class mid-field with plenty of depth. So i doubt a high quality backman will create much trouble for a side with the playing style of North Geelong.

Centrals need their better midfielders with the likes of Dev and Richo to work harder and lift their side and have Steely push further up the ground for a big option in centre field instead of wasting him sitting in the forward line for half the match.

North Geelong need to learn to use a switch more often as i saw too many opportunities wasted where they could have used the pace the 2 quickest and agile wingmen in the competition in an open paddock infront of them. Too often they are taking too long to react out of the backline and then kicking to the flooded side of the ground to their marking options rather than going to the less crowded side to 1 of their quick players for a quick inside 50.

Hopefully we can see these areas worked on for both sides in weeks to come for a more outstanding result :D

Also looking forward to seeing Banno's results over the next few weeks with some players back from injury.

This maybe because most of the goals werribee got were due to silly free kicks

That is an extremely valid point. Discipline in both of these top sides is a major issue with some real hot heads that the coaches need to rilly dim.

Dev has been playing seniors for the last month, and centrals are missing a couple of other very important players.

Other then that not a bad report.

This may have been answered before but do geelong west have a team? ive heard mixed reports that they have and havent. jst wondering whats going on. although it may be too late in the season to bother entering the competition now.

agreed with north being very flat... they momentum has been there in previous weeks just seemed flat at the begiining.. got a rev up at half time and come out playing some good footy in the 3rd quarter.. i also seen that the switch was on several times.. obviously centrals arnt the side they have been and looks like hav lost alot of there better players/leaders... and as 4 dev.. if the seniors are winning and looking to play finals wouldnt he rather b there in finals with them rather than playin u18s??
north were also missing 2 of there best kane pittman played seniors a midfielder and there captain jayke short also played seniors.. kingwell had a shocker of a game and was his 1st pretty poor game although he was pushed up the ground and played out of position... lets hope these lil niggles can b fixed 4 both teams and a better game is the outcome nxt time they meet!!!

no they dont , they were going to have a team but most of there players went to red west and they couldnt get enough players from the 2 teams combined to field a second team

yer agree with dougy08 north were very flat all game as for werribe that would of been one of there best games considering the good opposition and idont see them playing much better considering they lost to banno who north did beat with a few less players but if north get 2 cocky and come out as flat as they did on the weekend i cant see them goin though the season undefeated they need 2 lift there intensity level early and get more reved up before the game which im sure will happen as it is what north geelong is best known for with there hardness at the footy.

North definitly will lose a match or 2 if they continue to take the casual approach into matches that i have been witnessing. Once they have set captains they need to make sure that these leaders are well and truely gettin their team fired up and ready to go. A fired up North Geelong outfit is an intimidating, determined and hard at the ball outfit.

So since we've got all this hype going about the top 2 sides at the moment, lets talk about their less recognised players. Sure you have the Jayke Short's, Dev, Daveo, Steely, Sean Kingwell and the elusive number 11 for Centrals. But what about the not-so-publicised players and their characteristics. With a particular interest in North since they seem to be the team to beat going by what people are saying.

I have noticed that North Geelong have Thomas Marshalsea who is quite agile and speedy for his height. Good pair of hands and an extremely useful utility for the Magpies and always in and under the packs willing to take the bumps.

The North backline are also unsung heroes. A team within a team. Not the sleakest skills but alot of run and good rebounding skills, you only need to look as far as the percentage and points against to see how effective these back 6 are. Well led by Kyle Ricketts and Ashley Patcholke. Great to see the smaller backmen actually playing a large part in the game for North rather than doing the stereotypical thing and placing the duds in back pockets.

Then you move across the centre where the real engine room and finesse is located. There is Matthew Young, a middle sie player with a good pair of hands that is able to rotate into the forward line. Peter Ricardi. Excellent overhead with a good football mind. Then another mention to the wingmen of North Geelong who have sprung to my attention.

North Geelong are using their wingmen in a similar fashion to the way Centrals had last year. Both very quick with decent skills on the run. Its a shame they dont get utilised as much. As i said before, the quick switch could work wonders for North with these wingmen. I have noticed the very different styles of each of the wingmen. Jai Willoughby is very much so a great ball carrier. Good evasive skills and well cut out for a wingman role. I don't think i have seen him run down yet. His kicking is accurate and 1 percenters are good for a smaller bloke. Would be great to see him used alot more, even in the way Geelong protects Gary Ablett and gets him to carry the ball. Number 5 is probably one of the fittest players i could think of in the comp with a really high and probably unnoticed work rate. He has attracted a tag or 2 over the past few games. Unfortunately he just doesn't seem to have the same respect from his team mates as he does from his opponents. He has performed ok in the air for a middle size bloke and keeps his feet very well. A good ball carrier and great at breaking tackles. Once his team gets behind him he will be another dangerous player to add to the North Geelong list. Its surprising with his run that he is being stuck to 1 side of the ground. I'm surprised he doesn't rotate through a central role.

The forward line is where North could probably improve the most. North Geelong have zippy forwards in the recent import, Byron Rickard and young Darcy Eales but they are being played in frustrating and confusing roles. They have been played on flanks but then sometimes appear to be taking up the roles as crumbing pockets. I think that this is an area that could turn alot of them points into goals for this exciting North Geelong lineup.

Anyone else care to do write ups on the other top sides? :thumbsu:

are u from north geelong relevant?

um think you forgot a few players from north. Luke parker just came back from the ones and has appeared to steady the ship and give some added leadership and class from his time in the ones he knows how to get it fitest bloke in the team by far and has probably the best skills around the ground and infront of goal and also Nathan Kenyon who once he finds a bit of fitness will be hard to stop as he can kick well either side of his body.
thats bout it

where are all the werribe blokes usually they have alot of stuff to say they should be confident they played well against north maybe showed a few weaknesses of north im suprised there not puttin there spin on things
