My sources have told me Otoole and his merry men are going to corio definately he told them today and also tatey and verner from anakie harvey from winch smith from nth geelong and theres a few more there talking too aswell and apparently havnt lost any players from last year and with there 2s making the grand final last season you would think there going to be fairly strong in ones and twos next year.
All true Stewars assisant fergusson manning signed harvey signed and am led to believe Billy Nicholls is a certainty also best mate with Ricky and Lee Clifford apparently, all taking big pay cuts could be the year of the devil

anyone mentioned aaron broom from banno going to bell park? big loss for the league not just that club...

Is that a done deal with Aaron or just a rumour, also can anyone out there fill me in on how Rob Chamberlain goes i hear he is being linked with Newtown, would he be handy in the GFL could he play on ball if not maybe somewhere else say the flanks forward or back

Is that billy Nichols who played for North Shore and before that Richmond and Hawthorn that would be a big boost for Corio and the league to get an ex AFL player and i recon he would only be mid 20's, if true i wouldnt like to be playing on ball against corio Stewart in ruck tatey second ruckmen, Rick otoole, barry otoole, billy nichols, jed potter, david holzfiend, andrew ferguson, andrew williams, mark harvey, Michael Bauman, as on ballers that would have to be the most exsperienced and quikest onballers in gdfl for sure maybe your right it could be the year of the devil with that line up alone would have to start early favorites for flag in 2008

i'm lead to believe it is a done deal someone from bannockburn would be able to clarify this i'm sure...

The source is very close to one of the coaches Yeh thats the same one he is 25, real close with a few boys from there, he will dominate, also likely a couple more from North Shore will follow will be great boost for league especailly with talk of interleague returning. Yeh true having Stewart R.O'Toole, Nicholls and B.O'Toole will take some stopping all goalkicking on ballers who love it in tight.

do you know if nicholls has signed, im sure north shore would be trying very hard to keep him there and what about drysdale isnt wade chapman his cousin im sure they would be trying hard to get him too, im sure corio will be trying there best too especially if he is interested in going there. i know if he went to corio i would definately be going to watch them this year with the names there throwing around so early in the season they would be a very strong chance this year.

i just spoke to my source he said corio had 35 at training monday night for there first training run thats big numbers for the first night especially in november and he said the enthusiasm in the players was unlike his ever seen there before

Pretty certain has agreed to terms dissillusioned with the seagulls and drysdale to far to travel im led to believe cos of work committments in Melbourne

I bet Ricky wont take a pay cut.
I hate to continually put Corio down, but they are in debt and are offering all these players a decent wage. If they are able to pay everyone, then I wish them the best.
To me, it's Newcombe allover again.

I wouldnt think its newcombe all over again only for the fact there all corio people going back even billy grew up in corio and i dont think there new committee would let that happen.
I wouldnt be worried about corios debts the league are rapped with the way things are going out there. belmonts is the main issue for next year theve only paid back $1,000 to the league after winning a flag and they still have outstanding bills around $60,000 and haami knows this and he asked the club for more money for next year (what a joke) Belmont are on the edge of folding

Ricky would be taking a huge pay cut to go backthere after been at Newcomb, i would pay him watever he wants look at the players he attracts and the professionalism especially to a club like Corio if Belmont are paying Haami 20k i no who i would rather have O"toole twice the player he would ever be for half the money, I am led at believe the main reason he is going back is due to work committments and his little brother who plays in the juniors. Lets not forget the people they are recruiting are all corio people born and bred they stick tight the people from the Northern Suburbs

Look, I think it's fantastic for the league to have these players mentioned, wanting to return to their home club. Between himself and Haami, well they are different players and too hard to compare.
But, I though the initial reason for Rick to leave Corio, was that he wasn't fully paid. At Newcomb, Stewy and a few others mentioned here, are yet to be fully paid.
My question is, whats changed? They will not be playing for free. And what happens to the locals that battled away last season? Will they be looked after as well.
I think this topic (Corio & money) has been debated enough, I will wait and view the transfer lists when available.

And after all the clubs chipped in last year to help with their debt's, only for that money to be spent on players, then I say don't throw them any flotation devices, let them swim by themselves.

The difference between Haami Williams and Ricky O'Toole is that Haami has played in 4 premierships Ricky has played in none.

O'Toole has shown himself to be undiscliplined by getting rubbed out for the Grand Final this year.

I have seen years in the past when O'Toole was coach at Corio and they were clearly the best team in the comp but undiscipline cost them a premiership (it was against Thomson). I was there and saw it.

I can't see how he is going to bring discipine to a club that is renowned for the lack of it.

You obviously know nothing about footy Corio were never the best side in all those grand finals they always were underdogs every year playing with a shoe string budget unlike their oppositon North 2002, Werribee 2004 and Thomson05 yeh 4 premierships for haami to match O'Tooles 5 league medals please Williams was just a player at GFL level. As for undiscipline getting suspended once in his kife is not bad for a guy who gets tagged week in week out hope he and the Corio boys prove you wrong i will be going to watch

im not saying williams is a better player im just stating that I know many people including myself would rather win just one premiership, than 5 league best and fairest medals

Corio have had discipline problems in the past! It cost them in 2005 when they were short price favourites, they went out in straight sets in 03' when hot favs aswell. And i wouldnt say that Werribee North and Thomson had a massive advantage budget wise. Corio payed out some big dollars too in those years.

That is totally rite on the money i have a couple of close friends who played with him at st. joeys and corio and newcombe and i can almost asure that he would give all his lead b&fs for one premership. And the way corio played with him in those grand finals they will lose again if he plays there because that is wot they realied to do all the and it has showed in the past remember Buddah a CHAMPION TEAM WILL ALWAYS BEAT A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS

Macromantic my facts are write they got a loan from the league at the start of the year of $30,000 and paid back $1,000 and got extra bills threw the year between $25,000 to $30,000 my facts are write and i promise you now if they miss one payment next year the will be out of the gdfl. Theres alot of clubs pissed of that Belmont won a flag and put themselve another $30,000 in debt my facts are write straight from uncle nev
p.s you should talk to belmont so you dont look like a dick

I totally agree they got what they wanted a flag and they will never get help from the other clubs again they have burnt there bridges and i dont want to see any club fold but belmont better pull the heads in or there in alot of trouble maybe haami should give some of that $20,000 per year back cause he aint worth that, gallager is twice the player he is

I recon its great that ricky has gone back to corio i hope he retires there its great for gdfl footy and if he can bring other players like stewart fergusson and nichols its great for your comp. i know when i retired i would love to say i won 5 league best and fairest and the only person in history to win all 3 league best and fairest and he has won a grand final at newcombe this year
I actually follow north shore been a member for 35 years but i love the under dog, ie the team that everyone puts down go CORIO in 2008

well said buddah!
since we havent heard from Drago, we thought we to shift the gear stick over to our friends at East Geel.

any departures or arrivals?

you would think they need some changes and get rid of their slow and old blokes from the backline.

The abovementioned would have a field day against them.

I think they will slip like they always have
