CHFL club Gordon is seeking a senior playing assistant coach for season 2008.
Gordon is a club with not a lot of experienced senior footballers, but it is well ran and has plenty of workers.
We are trying hard to recruit players and we have signed a few already.
Our u/18s played off this year and 8 are moving up to our seniors.
So if you are looking to coach in the future this could be a good starting point.
Please send your application to P.O.Box 530 Bacchus Marsh 3340 or call 53682059.
closing date 21/12/2007.

no disrespect to this years grand finalist but they would not have got close thompson Corio or Werribee with the sides they had between 2001 and 2006 so you would think with corio getting these players back they deserve to be early favourites and stewart and nichols are fair inclusions definately the best ruckman in gdfl now and nicholls will win league b & f bye a mile

Nicholls will strugle to play next year, injury proned, dodgy calves! he has played roughly 10 games in last 2 season's. The only way he'll win the medal is if u plonk him in the goal square and just kick it up 2 him all day!

He did play a year at North Geelong but don't think he played a lot of games because of injuries. Cant remember if he had a year off footy or even played for another side other than North Shore before joining the pies.

He played at camperdown for a few years. But who cares he is a f@#kwit on the footy field and he only follows the trend of every other player! Up Nicholls and O'Tooles ass if u ask me!

not asking him to win medals, just be serviceable with the personnel around him and the job will get done.Plenty of match winners now!

Settle down one and all. Yes Corio look as if they are going to improve but it is a long season and anything can happen.

But i must say it looks as though the GDFL is going to be a pretty tightly fought league. Corio obviously will be up there, Belmont as the reigning premiers cant be discounted, Thomson with Glen Wallace will be there abouts, East Geelong should be ok and Bannockburn are usually around the mark.

Should be a good season.

Would i be correct in saying that GDFL clubs have become a lot more professional in the last couple of years. In the past it has been a dirty league (in the sense of on field violence) but this looks to have improved, barring the odd incident which happens in most leagues. And its ability to attract quality coaches such as Haami Williams and now Glen Wallace (although never coached before) Ricky O'Toole as well which has led to better players coming to the league.

With the elitist attitude of the GFL i think the GDFL is becoming a better alternative and is fast closing the gap on the BFL ceratainly in terms of depth of quality teams. For players wanting to play in Geelong it is becoming a better alternative than the BFL. Things are looking bright for the GDFL .

are you suggesting an interleague game between these 2 leagues?

Interleague is a going ahead in 2008 take my word for it. It was to be played at Winch but as the ground will not be in use for the first 7 rounds it may be shifted. 19 Man get your information right bud the league is almost debt free which is outstanding. Any other news on pre season? Other than Corio. Hear Glen Keast is at Thomson taking a few Seagulls with him. Also Justin Tate to BPH we will be welcome as they have lost Bowyer and Hemly.
