This week against the Hill will be the game that will prove where they are really at. They had some of there key players back Saturday Aitken kicked 7 O'Toole dominant and Clifford pulling down 20 marks, if they stay fit they could make the finals. For Winch Reid was best on ground in a fine display. Interesting Corio coach Bissett was stripped to play but did not take the field? Would you not just play a kid instead!

Corio looked great for 2.5 quarters, if they play like that for 4 quarters the can match it with anyone. Aitken & otoole looked good, but they are only half fit. Was impressed with the corio ruckmen on the weekend, shut down the big winch ruckmen, i think he has been playing CHF for them, but looked good in the ruck. Great win for Anakie, the season might be just hotting up.

An alternate suggestion is select a couple of GDFL grounds to play finals. When finalising venues for each final have the senior sides play at the nuetral venue (e.g BPH v Bannok in an elim final might play at Godfrey Reserve whilst Thomson v East in Qual Final play at BPH). In regard to the grand final this should be held at the best venue regardless of whether that is a GDFL ground or GFL ground or some other ground.

Anyway this is all talk as the GDFL is not going to move from St Albans as they like the fact that it is close to Buckleys and they get either pre or post game drinks there.

Yehn true they wont leave st Albans, although i think West Oval has the best atmosphere by far and now Blue West is in the process of moving there I think it is time the league headed back there especially now they have adequate netball courts. I dont think Thomson should be considered for finals nth geelong and easts ground far better.

Hopefully he got what he deserves and thats 5 or more weeks. The bloke is dirty and unprofessional. He brings his club down and players like him sully the reputation of the entire league.
 
Just been informed that boofa lewis got 2 weeks. HAs anyone else heard anything different?

I know he took the one week, but west refused and requested it went to the tribunal. Has there ever been a more undisciplined coach he just served a two match suspension, first game back gets done again, I reckon he would hold the record for the most 50s given in history, no doubt he is a good player but how about showing some leadership. Thats why I DONT THINK THE HILL CAN WIN THE FLAG?

Given his history he must be pushing the new rule of 16 weeks cumulative suspension and your deregistered. It would be interesting to know what he is up to given he has 4 weeks this year.

With a reputation as such, it must be hard to recruit players and sponsors to the club, knowing that they could be in the papers for all the wrong reasons.
 
was just wondering i heard this guy from inverleigh 2's is the hardest man in gdfl 2's no:15 i think he is peter kenyon????? :confused:

I think the contest between Skrobba and Harriot this weekend will be worth the emission fee in its self. This match up could decide the outcome of the game.

Wouldn't think they will go near each other given they both play forward of the centre.

East Geelong V Thompson East by 4 goals

Bannockburn V Inverleigh Inverleigh to come out firing but not enough run to finish the game Banno by 50+ points

Werribee V Winchelsea Will test both teams out and a Close game i would say winch by 6 points

Geelong West V Belmont This wont even be a game, it will be a shame Belmont by 100+ points

Anakie V North Geelong Anakie are in good form after last week anakie by 15points

Bell Post Hill v Corio BPH will be determined to win and let there young blokes run but corio will test them until the final siren Bell Post Hill in a close one 10 points

Not wanting to be disrespectful to West, but i might give the lion's a miss today and head over and watch the Eagles play the city Tigers... Might do some forward scouting for Haami. This will be a cracking game! Good luck to all :cool:
 
Yes I have heard about this peter kenyon. Word on the street is that he tells everyone how hard he is. And reckons he is the hardest man in the GDFL

Well it happened again against corio yesterday so ive been told, they were arguing with the umpires and against themselves and surly with their coach out, its no wonder that club has no disipline. As they say it starts from the top!

I'm lead to believe that a player was red carded in the first 15 minutes of the match, leaving BPH with 17 players for the remainder of the game. Also, they apparently hit the lead with about 10 minutes to go, before being overrun. If this attitude/discipline problem continues, they will be lucky to play finals!
 
went and watched the game at myers reserve BPH V Corio. Umpiring was an absolute disgrace. There was a massive crowd which was a good sign. Undisplined act from one side ended up costing them the game. i hope the GFUL organise themselfs this week otherwise it could cost some teams some points.
