I agree that Thomson probably need a new coach, but in saying that their coach this year did a super job making finals again considering they lost about 14 players from the 2006 championship team, along with major injuries at the business end of the season. Thats a fair effort. Also heard Maheris is on the move to Newtown, not sure in what capacity.
I agree they might have had some injuries approaching finals but most clubs do. I would like to know who were the 14 players missing from their 2006 side. their was definitely more than 7 players running around in in 2007 from the back to back premiership team.

to me they looked spent and uninterested in the last round of the year when the lowly werribee centrals team give them a bit of a touch up. although they had some injuries they still had an excellent side in that day.

14 players was a guess but some names missing were, Armstrong, Daniels, Henry, Atchison, Justin, Hood, Panther, Forbes, Gardiner and Grigg. I reckon there might of been a couple more. Take 10 or 11 out of any other side inthe top 5 and they would struggle, probably not make finals. Shows the league dropped off a bit this year. By the way well done Belmont loins!!

Any way it dosen't matter now. I have at my place a piece of silver ware stating 2007 premiers. so east keep on plucking yourselves you may get over it one day.

Does anyone know the Best & Fairest results from any of the top 5 sides?

Without knowing, one would imagine that both Haami, and A Broom would have won their respective counts after finishing 1 & 2 in the league.

East?
BPH?
Thomson?

bell post hills best and fairest was damien farrar

I find it amusing that Farrar wins the club award, yet polls no votes in the league. The same with Mathisen from Nth Geelong.
Maybe these two are given a "card" each week to fill out?

Have found out that Gercovich won Thomson's best. But even he was overshadowed by J Mcleod in the league count.

Re: 2008 Coaching Appointments

Anyone have any news on coaching appointments for 2008 or is it a bit early.

I understand that 3 spots will remain the same with East re-signing Skrobolak, Williams continuing with Belmont and Andrews staying at Werribee but outside that I am ineterested in whats going on.

Ive been told that Winch were very dissapointed with last season's efforts. Big money was spent (Reid, Kitchen, Hardingham) all suppost to have earn around the $500/game region. Not to mention the likes of Harvey, Sezun, Kunigiskis etc, who would command a resonable fee.
But, without demeanng coach Price, Knuckey would be a very good appointment.
