Gidday to everybody in football land.
Now there are a few chinesse whispers going about of the Belmont Lions Football Club. It is amazing how these whispers get blown of proportion.
The Belmont Lions Have the support of the GDFL Executive. We have submitted a Business plan to the Leaugue for the 2008 season of which they have accepted.
Yes we are in Debt to the League and our Businees plan outlines how we are going to repay that debt.
Yes we do have a loan with a bank of which we are currently repaying.
We are not in a $70000 debt as sugested on this site. It is nowhere near that amount.
Of course there are bills still coming in and we are dealing with these as they arrive.
As far as the club is concerned we will still have 95% of our 2007 players list for next season.
Our preseason will be starting in the first week of December.
We also could use this site to spread rumours and stories of other clubs but we have more pride than that.
So if anybody would like to post notes about our proud club please dont hesitate in calling our President Mark Brady on 0431318700 to see if your story is correct.

I know otoole stewart manning ferguson bruhn are off to corio and there talking to hinch and scott evans aswell, so that cant help newcombes chances with there numbers and corio is very close to signing nicholls milliagan nolan and a couple more from north shore.
corey chapman to drysdale
Bowyer from bph of to st joeys
matt lewis staying at bannoc
theres a lot of names leaving gfl and bfl to go over to gdfl thats certainly got to strengthen gdfl

And Harvey too, Buddah?
Whinch look to have gone backward. With Harvey, Hardingham, Kitchen, Kunigiskis all gone, and Reid unsure. Big losses.

sorry mate i forgot about harvey and also tatey and collins from anakie theres that many goin there i cant keep up with it all

What about yourself Whiskers?

For all your ranting and raving about staying at the Hill, I hear that Red West could be a destination for you in 08? Any truth?

theres an 90% chance i could be at red west in 2008, as for hill im finished up their for a while.

With all those recruits Corio have apparently signed it is hard to see them not going all the way next year. It would be a major blow to the Devils if they can't pull it off in 2008 with a list as good as that.

Good post Gavin.

But you must not worry to much about what gets said on an an internet forum. Most peolpe know there tends to be a bit of a stretch of the truth here sometimes. But in other cases many things come to fruition.

But it is good that you have cleared a few things for a few people.

Most decent posters on this forum have a pretty good understanding of what is REALLY going on.

I guess you can never stop the skuttlebut. If it doesnt happen here it is going to happen at the local pub or down the shops.

True but you have to start some where!

Or better still just ask his mate Lion King. He hasn't been on here for a while. He must be busy ploughing through all those bills.
Hello Newton.... Don't worry 'bout the bills, Put 'em on the never never and live a little... I was just down the shops putting some silver polish on the account... :D

lets start something new.
What is everybody option on the league changing the format of the U18's to U18 1/2. And how will this affect clubs?
The Belmont lions are setting up their own U18 team for the 2008 season so if any body knows of any one at that age level who wants to play let me know.
The other good thing is they have scrapped the idea of a "D Grade" netball.

Jason Fastuca would punch the living suitcases out of anyone in the GDFL williams included. end thread.

I was talking physically tough at the football and the man, not who could punch the living suitcases out of anyone. I would like to see that fight though Williams V Fastuca.

Fastuca would be one of the toughest players at the football in the GDFL and I would be put my house on him punching the crap outa of Williams in a fist fight.

nathan lewis is my option for the toughest man in the gdfl
you are kidding whiskers!! Nathan Lewis is weak mentally and physically, anyone who spits on an opponent and wont shake hands is a sook! He never gets a hard ball. Rick Lazzarick is pretty hard at it.

How quickly people forget. What about Tim Gardiner from Thomson. He's 35 and going around again this year (I think). He's been the toughest player in the league for the last 15 years just ask anyone who has played against him. 2 Whitley medals and 5 premierships. He's hard at the ball and would punch the suitcases out of anyone just ask Vilcins from Werribee Centrals.

someone needs to tell tim is a team game. the only thing he has done over the 15 years is play for himself. kick it to me, kick it to me. he could learn alot from Ricky Otoole.

i would be careful of what i say on this site. lewis may be a dirty player but he can win the game off his own boot when determined to win
