AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
couple of old werribee boys in chris gilham and paul carson at west/st peters, lukey forbes was a joeys junior (mainly in there 2nd team in the 18's) before crossing to thomson then returnig back to joeys after 2 or 3 seaons then played with VFL. Ross Dylan from bannock to bell park and also brett harding went to bell park and played good footy, just to name a couple.
No doubt the Gdfl teams have produced some handy GFL senior players over the years. Corio have produced some talent:
Ricky O'Toole-St Joeys, Mark Stewart-St Albans, Frank Fopiani-North Shore, Leigh Clifford-North Shore. Even Michael Mostert and Mark O'Toole played a couple of useful seasons at St Marys. I'm sure there would be more.
Bannockburn have produced a few that have been mentioned and I think Aaron Broom will do well at Bell Park this year.
North Geelong have produced Hardman, Anjelkovic was ok at North Shore, Daniel Gibbs had a good season at North Shore too after crossing from North Geelong.
Nathan and Matthew Lewis from Bell Post Hill to North Shore.
He did play some good senior games but his last two years at Joeys were spent in the ressies so he did leave Joeys as a reserves player.
What about the reverse, GDFL players going to the GFL and playing well. Leigh Hardman for sure. Played very well at Lara last year... Anyone else?

Leigh Clifforrd dont think he is in the catergory with thoses names you put in, he is solid player but is not a gun like the rest of the players you have put in
Pulled up stumps a long time ago because as you said I am too old and was too soft thats why I spend my time speculating on here as I cant do it on the park anymore.well said 19th man, drago is just having a dig at corio, as he bawked the question to him a while back regarding East Geelongs recruiting.
thats drago though, talks in riddles about East topics and if too hard just goes missing.
loves to gossip about every other clubs affairs!
are u going around again drago?
I think you should pull up stumps mate, too old and soft.

Also the whole reason for these forums is to gossip about other clubs and therefore I will add my 2 cents when I feel I should.
Finally to complete a response to your post if you are refering to my response about the history of recruiting at East I think you will see that I agreed with your point that the club had been sub-par in that area for a long time but looks to have finally adressed that with a more agressive approach last year.
If you want to know about potential recruits fo 2008 at this stage I couldn't tell you. The club (or the people that run the club) are keeping their cards very close to their chest about potential recruits. They have been very active but just not advertising the results as they understand that a signature in December may not mean a clearance in February.
