3 recent flags but the Cats are nearly as broke as Brisbane. Why?

They had to buy a mansion for some new player in moggs creek, and pay off some of the local council to conduct more shady realestate deals.
You give us kardiana park and st kilda, norf and the doggies make money FFS

Way to waste a good asset geelong.

I was surprised too when I crunched the numbers... Amazing how a team who never went back to back are still superior to two who 3 peated. We've been through this before though, it's why you're over this neck of the woods, sulking.

I crunched the numbers also and no matter how it's done the result is the same.
4>3 and the 3peat is the icing. Add to that the Hawks with a vastly inferior team to their current team easily beat the Cats at their absolute peak, their absolute greatest season.

Geelong can claim to be the H&A champs if it makes you feel any better.

In the real world most know for a fact that it's all about the Premierships. No good been a superior team in the H&A rounds, Its the finals where the big boys show their class.

Worse still is knowing Victorian clubs like Hawthorn & Collingwood will be the ones who'll end up footing the bill to bail them out in 5-10 years.
You've already been doing this for years but obviously haven't even noticed.
Lol, way to be suddenly outraged. :$:thumbsu:

Meanwhile in other news, Dangerfield chooses Cats over Hawks...

Take your tears back to the main board, we covered your inadequacies there.

The fact that you still feel the need to include that 08 flag suggests you're trying mighty hard to convince yourself without much success. :thumbsu:

Go melt over on the Hawthorn board.

Incorrect actually, our membership numbers were vastly higher to Hawthorn's preceding our 2007 premiership. Hawthorn's numbers started to significantly rise after they saluted in 08, to which they have more than doubled since.

The irony of a confirmed bandwagoner Hawthorn supporters preaching 'fairweather' is not lost here. :drunk:

What was that about well educated again? I mean you couldn't spell a simple word such as 'embarrassing' correctly.

This section of your post is a comedy of errors. You've brought a knife to a gun fight, again ironic. As bad as Geelong's loss has been this season, due to the ground redevelopments, it has nothing on Hawthorn's financial downturn and almost merger with Melbourne in the 90's. In fact you were a basket case.

Geelong are set for record membership numbers despite 'missing' the finals for the first time since 2006 - the year our numbers were higher than the Hawks - and our long term viability is sound, hence the funding to complete the stadium upgrades. Remembering we were in turmoil when Cook took over the reigns, to which the debt was wiped away, and quickly turned into 3 premierships.

If you were positive Geelong were about to disappear into obscurity, you wouldn't spend a large chunk of your life fixated on the club. You'd wash your hands and kindly depart the scene.

But no, your obsession knows no bounds and your fear is palpable... you're shitting bricks at the prospect of Geelong rising again just as your ageing list takes its last breath.

I'll quietly sit back and await the mass exodus of Hawthorn supporters from the Bay as the bandwagon loses its traction and crashes into obscurity.

Next time you bring a knife to a gun fight, make sure it's at least been sharpened.

Yes, that's right. Geelong had more members than Hawthorn in 2006, which was the original question to which I answered. Now take your insecurity issues and your irrelevant stats back to the Hawthorn board, where you can all sing Kumbaya and pray that you somehow win the flag next year to overtake Geelong as the best dynasty this game has seen.

You're welcome. :thumbsu:

The Handbaggers have made a massive loss as they pay to upgrade a stadium their notoriously-fairweather fans will have scant chance of filling.

The city of Geelong is fast becoming a ghost town with no jobs to be found. Yet the Handbaggers have poured everything they made from their most-successful ever era into upgrading KardiniaPark. If only the Pyramid Building Society were still around they'd have a more sensible place to invest.

So now everything is being staked on Dangerfield to bring the crowds back, otherwise the club will be forced to go cap in hand to the banks to beg them to write off its' debts..... again. :$

Hopefully we never get to the point where our clubs thinks it necessary to consider merging with another club.

Who would have thought that a club who consider themselves as 'big' were on the verge of merging. Wouldn't happen in the world of reality... calling that a 'big club' that is.

Ah yes...

It took Hawthorn's worst season in 60 years and Geelong to fall a kick short of a Grand Final to attract 1000 more members than Hawthorn

Is it any wonder that the small, provincial minnow is on the verge of financial ruin?

Even in 2004 when we were shit and Geelong were in a prelim our membership was higher than theirs. Yet Nokia wants to tie it all to Hawthorn's on-field success. What a deluded campaigner.

Memberships uually get a bounce the season following a good season not in the same season.

I know it's hard for you to understand, instead preferring to go off on a tangent, but I actually don't give a fat rats clacker how many members Geelong have, nor do I care to partake in any dick measuring contest on the subject... I merely enjoy highlighting your clubs bandwagon culture and how that fact ruffles your supporters feathers.

I was asked a specific question by your confirmed bandwagon associate in Bosk, and kindly answered it. You then rudely entered, arms flapping wildly, with little to no idea about what transpired.

Now as I said, take your meaningless and irrelevant stats back to the Hawthorn board and melt over there with your inferiority complex. :thumbsu:

Christmas Day should be all about shitfighting with relatives.

By spending 4m on that stadium.
And spending over 1m last financial year repaying loans from previous stages of redevelopment too.

Once it's all paid off we'll be swimming in cash again.
