3 recent flags but the Cats are nearly as broke as Brisbane. Why?

Check out the massive crowd. Must have been a bit chilly.
...and how many sellouts did you get at Kardinia Skilled GMHBA last year?

So you acknowledge Geelong has shafted former players? Stevie J, Walker, Kelly & Stokes would've been pretty handy on the weekend.
We won our grand final in round 1 remember... and funnily enough without grandpa and grandad... they were playing for the Hawks. :thumbsu:

I was pissed and still am pissed about Chappy, Stevie J a little bit, not so much... The rest meh...

As far as last weekend goes - Stevie J yes, the others I think we can both agree wouldn't have.

Can't get over how poorly Geelong treated their royalty.

Glad Stevie J got to stick it up them on the weekend. And he absolutely loved it. Great for him, really sad for Geelong Football Club and its supporters.
OUT: Lewis, Burgoyne, Gibson, Mitchell, Hodge

You're off with the fairies RV.

Reality is, Geelong treated Johnson, Corey, Kelly, Stokes, Chapman etc like dogshit.

Not only did it hurt you severely in the meantime, dashing any possible premiership hopes, but it's all been for nothing as you haven't won anything to vindicate your poor player treatment.

I mean sure, Danger's got you a few more bandwagon members, but that's it.

Nice deflection. Good to know you can't defend your fairweather supporter base.

Deflection? Nope, just reminding you people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Hawthorn are lucky enough to have a more affluent supporterbase than any other club except perhaps Melbourne. Which means a greater percentage of our fans can afford to buy memberships but a smaller portion are willing to mingle with the riff-raff one typically finds among opposition supporters at matches.

So whilst our crowd numbers might not be as high as say Richmond's, our supporters aren't remotely as feral, are more willing to reach into their deep pockets to support their wonderful club, and are less likely to use an electrical cooking device to turn their membership into superheated plastic.

As for your "fairweather" comment, one only needs look at the drastic downward trend in crowd numbers at GMHBA stadium since 2011 to observe the lightening of the Geelong bandwagon.

I was there for the annual premiership flag unfurling.

Liked how they did it this year, bringing out all three flags from the threepeat, talking about each one separately. I thought it was clever.

What did Geelong do after they won their threepe... oh wait
Meh. We didn't get so lucky as you guys and get to play three GFs against sub standard interstate teams. We only got one of those and smashed the gf record in the process. Pity you couldn't do the same despite having four chances against weak interstate sides,.

Nice rant.

So not only fairweather but elitist snobs as well. Way to sell yourselves.

We make everyone look weak.
Who holds the most goals in a season record? biggest ever score in a game record? biggest win in a gf record? Most all Australians in a season record? Most 150 point wins? Most wins in a row? Most home game wins in a row? Is it hawthorn? Nope. But one team holds all those records. Can you guess who?

Would have hurt us more keeping them and you Hawfies would be asking why have we kept them?

We're already seeing with the Hawfs that Gibson is finished, had one of the worst games I've ever seen last weekend against West Coast.

But they hold all the records that matter.
