Even when Matthews was past it he would still dominate in the forward line for a year or two.

I feel this video showed his strengths, which were pretty subtle, and therefore impossible to stop. Yes, he had great hands (both for crumbing and marking, look at the one grabs in this video for both), strength, but his versatility and nous was probably what got him most of his goals here.
