Nah, the fact that it's round 17 should've tipped you off to it not being even a mini-final. That was the final game against Essendon.

If Hawthorn had beaten us in 2009, they would have made the finals, so yes that game mattered, as well as the round 1 game.

I know it's only feeding the trolls but Geelong had no dynasty. Sure, it was by far the greatest period in their own existence, and it hurts that the Mighties so easily and quickly eclipsed it, but the lack of B2B, let alone B2B2B, means that no dynasty was ever achieved.

A shame, because a dynasty comparison would have been a nice topic of discussion if both clubs had have been able to provide one.
