Interesting story I heard over the wknd.. Gun St Marys player Josh Eddy could be on the move to Burdoo Reserve. Whilst it seems like a bit of a long shot, Josh does have a cousin and alot of mates playing for the tigers. Will keep you's informed if I have anymore info on this.
This is good info for the fellas along with the news that Brentan Riordans brother who apparently is better than him and a bit taller is a good chance to come to Grovedale. Also Adam Donahue wont be nominating for the draft so Its been a promising start for the recruiting team. Just need to find a decent coach with a few players coming with him

Also a few of his mates from up Shepperton way have been linked with a move. There has been talk of his brother moving down for a couple of years now tho and its never happened so we'll wait and see.
In the addy today said that Grovedale will start there interview process this week to find the new coach. Im very excited about this as the club is now moving in the right direction and im sure they'll make the right decision unlike a few previous decisions! Did anybody mention Bluey McGrath

Andrew Riordan plays at Tongala. Pretty much dominates that league, which would be on par with the GDFL. Only 19/20 yo.Also a few of his mates from up Shepperton way have been linked with a move. VCFL rankings even have MFL higher than BFL... they play each other next year
I agree that the murray league is a good league, but you take the VCFL rankings with a grain of salt.. The current rankings have the Ballarat league higher than GFL which is ridiculous. In my opinion tho if a bloke is a gun in what ever comp he plays in, he'll probably be a good player in another league. For instance there's plenty of good players in GDFL that would be good players in GFL aswell.
My mistake. Thought Tongala were in the Picola league!

Rumour has it GWSP started pre season with 40 plus players in attendance which is encouraging.

Just had to clear something up... Andrew Riodan played for Katandra... It's in the Picola South East division.... They're a very family based club. They don't pay any players and have finished top 3 since 2003 i think, including 3 flags in 4 years. Played the last 4 or 5 grand finals as well but missed this years. David Teague (former Carlton and North Melbourne player, and now a VFL coach, born and bred there... Also played there this year)
Riodan is a tall/medium build, can run all day and good foot skills. Light framed at the moment though.....

I think one of these Shepp blokes have applied for the coaching role. Also the eldest Colbert brother is in the mix.
There should be an answer in the next week or two regarding the job. The tigers have also signed former? Torquay premiership player Andrew Wesley who I believe has been playing in Darwin the past 2 years.

Was BOG in the Granny iirc.
That was back in 2006. His best years are behind him. He'd be in his 30s and not getting quicker. Clever and would still be handy at BFL level but wouldn't expect him to cut it up in GFL.
2 time North Ballarat premiership player Jacob Spalding has signed with Newtown. Very good get by the eagles. Also some very big announcements to come outta Grovey in the coming weeks including a prominent player from a rival GFL club coming to Burdoo... Watch this space.
