Geelong rorting the system

Is this a new rort or do we just post unrelated shit at this point and hope something sticks?

well its a rort because my tax dollars paid for it, and you cant fill it.

I think they should reduce the capacity to 25k, its all you need, and put some proper wings on the ground and make it the same size as the MCG

Maybe if that happens, the cats finals record may improve and it will be a win/win.

The AFL is not evening pretending they want find anything. They just want to rubber stamp this to say everything is fine.

Concerns have been aired about the audit into Geelong’s financial affairs after it was revealed their former chief operating officer is part of the AFL team checking the Cats’ books.

Simon Kelleher was an executive for more than six years at Geelong and after joining the AFL, he has been charged with the responsibility of investigating third-party payments at the club.

The perceived conflict of interest was raised on Fox Footy’s Midweek Tackle on Tuesday night with Kelleher, the AFL General Manager of Club, Finance, Performance and Growth in the spotlight over the issue.

Cats coach Chris Scott’s leadership consulting role with club sponsor Morris Finance has previously come under scrutiny and speculation over Geelong recruit Bailey Smith’s long-standing sponsorship deal with Cats backer Cotton On has also flared up in recent weeks.

I bet most of these conspiret@rds are the same people who think Donald and DOGE is really doing a great job stopping "waste and fraud" because they care about the American people.
If that string was any longer itd almost be able to cover the circumference of Rhys Stanleys farm

So a thread about Geelong 3rd party payments stays on the main board but one about Hawthorn doesn't?

Might need Steve Hocking to give Chief a visit.
The Hokkers don't get the masses frothing quite like Geelong do these days.

I doubt you pay much tax. Trolley boys wouldn’t be in a high bracket.

Maybe you could put your wage towards bigging up those 19 and 20k crowds you hosted last year.

Does our finals record need to improve so we have a bigger flag lead on you this century? Or is already having more than you enough for now?

Interesting turn of events since a Geelong supporter started this thread. You can almost hear the concern in the posts of Cats supporters now. Trying to keep a brave face.

Do you really expect the AFL investigators to find anything?

I understand the AFL bloke in charge of the department investigating is the Ex Geelong CFO Chief Finacial Officer who would have been hiding the payments if there were any.

So if found guilty he likely loses his current AFL job as well as reputation.

So let's not hold our breath on this one. The AFL we look after itself and the boys club will close ranks if anything dodgy has occurred.

It's how they operate.

Well that reply shows you have no argument.

Reads like a Donald Trump media response. Nothing to do with the issue being discussed.

So bloody dodgy. This club is a disgrace.

Does the club employ the auditor or is it the AFL?

This reads to me like the former Geelong CFO took a new job in charge of auditing AFL teams. No doubt his experience and understanding of the inner working of an AFL team helped land him the job.

What do you think the chances are that his past experience at Geelong was unknown and any conflict not declared? And how exactly does it make Geelong a disgrace?

A guy who follows a team with 100,000 members whose crowds fell below 20k last year has spent the last 24 hours giving it to a team for getting crowds as ‘low’ as 25k. Forgive me for pointing out the stupidity of the argument.

And then highlighting how our ‘poor finals record’ has helped us eclipse his own team’s flag haul over the last quarter century.

What was I thinking.
