In 2025 do you think Geelong earn more from a 40k crowd at GMHBA or a 50-70k home MCG game? If the latter pays less then it's a financial handicap to host a game at the G, thus worse than break even relative to a standard home game.

Apologies, poster never mentioned in comparison to playing the games at Geelong, just said that was the break even number at the MCG. But now I know the context I can accept the notion.

I get that intelligence and being a Richmond supporter don't traditionally go together. But can you please tell us which of Cleansweep17 (plus 25 other aliases) and Meteoric Rise is a Geelong supporter?

I'm happy to take Meteoric Rise through the traditional Geelong supporter induction. It mainly involves holding handbags and crying about the 2020 GF.

Some observations:

These aren’t posts into this thread.
They are posts from numerous threads merged into this one whenever this back and forth comes up.
Unsurprisingly someone who shares voting rights with Blaisee and Smasha can’t work this out.

Additionally, as has been pointed out, two of the people in the top group of contributors are, in fact, Richmond fans, and the top contributor would have a whole lot more posts were he tallied up using his aliases as well.

Lastly, it is a Geelong-Richmond thread. When people post in it, stupidly or not, people will respond when they think there is something worth responding to.

You may or may not have noticed, I haven’t posted many of my gazillion posts in said thread unprompted. I don’t sit in here waiting to go ‘well I’ve just discovered this footage of such and such putting deep heat in an opponent’s jock strap from 2017 so it makes your flags null and void’ after the thread has sat dormant for days. I don’t randomly pop in the tell Tigers fans that Marlion Pickett has broken into my house and request their help. Not that I’d get it because I don’t live near the MCG.

But do you see what I’m saying? It’s a thread that is about our club and some of us like to bite back.

Don't misunderstand what I'm saying, losses don't leave me feeling f***** over, I watched all the Tigers games this season and we only won 2 games. What I don't like is my team not being able to play their game after 2020, and that's because of Geelong.

And, where Essendon is concerned, let's not forget that they wouldn't even use the IV in 2001 when they knew what Brisbane was doing, but I'm supposed to believe that they became drug cheats because of Hird and not the Geelong contingent. The Essendon fans used to have a banner in the crowd which confirmed their excitement about Hird (who wouldn't use the IV in 2001) having the Weapon from Geelong.

Forget injuries, premiership players being traded out, an inability to adapt to rule changes, the coach walking out, etc. THE reason the Richmond period of dominance ended was “because of Geelong”.
