I think you'll find half that Sandringham side wasn't associated with Melbourne. Geelong are a stand alone side, so 19 of the 22 who ran out onto MC Labour Park, or Optus Oval, or whatever it's known as now, on grand final day last year were on Geelong's list, whereas about 10-12 of Sandringham's side were actually Melbourne listed players.

Loving it how all these Bay13 cats are claiming that they dont care if they beat us or not. Inside they are dying to beat us.

last year Geelong won everything there is to win. Every little tiny thing they could possibly have won, they did. EXCEPT for a game against us.

say Geelong come out and recapture their post round 6 form until they play us, and we beat them by even a comforatble 4 or 5 goal margin. Tell me their proud Bay13ers will not care. What a load of Sh*t! Inside they will be squealing "Why!!!!!!" and they will live amongst a constant brown and gold rage until they have a chace to redeem themselves. Of course they will come out and and claim " its just a home and away game " etc etc but they will be dying inside

I'll admit it, it didn't really phase me that much in round 4 last year because I just wasn't suprised and I wasn't a bay 13 regular then but after the crap that has been sprouted by both sides since you're damn right I care!.

Problem is as cats fans we are in a lose-lose situation, it the cats lose to the hawks we will be pummelled beyond belief on this board but if we win (and it is not by a huge margin) it will be an expected result and 1 game won't be enough for get you guys off our backs.

But here's the thing....it's not until round 17 and the hawks better not be peaking early because from what I saw on thursday night the cats won't hit their straps until about round 10 as they looked underdone. I think bomber will have them peaking at the right time of the year.

I actually believe the Hawks have the best depth, not saying the Cats depth is bad, just that the Hawks depth goes a little deeper and better.

But i reckon the cats still have the best 22 quite easily.

I agree Ron. Geelong traded away some 'depth' players last year to prepare for the future which I think is a great move. Personally, I don't mind if we don't double up in the Magoos if we can manage to go back to back. This decision though probably means that the Hawks' depth runs a little deeper.

I think that Geelong has put itself into a position where it can challenge for the flag over the next few seasons and Hawthorn along with Collingwood, Port and the West Coast will be some of the others that are in the same situation at the same time.

I don't care about Rd17 any more than any other game this year in the home and away series.

But to face the Hawks in the GF, and beat them, would be one of the sweetest victories I could imagine.
The exciting thing is, this is more likely than it's been for a long time.

I just hope the Hawks make the finals this year... it was a pity they weren't good enough last year.

I will enjoy our Match this yr Vs the Hawks...... really it is the only bit of unfinshed bissness for Geelong form 07, That said i think it will mean alot more to the Hawks than it would the cats, just like how the dockers pull a win out of there ring hole when they play in the derby. Hawks Will take alot more out of a win Vs Geelong then the Cats would, but like someone else said, i think we will have our eyes on bigger things more so than a win against the 07 Finals Chokers....(yes that includes the roo's too)
