Sam Jacobs, Rory Sloane, Ben Brown and Toby Greene pretty hard done by IMO. All had better years than a couple of players picked

Nothing new from these sorts of deals though

Sam Jacobs has been stiffed a number of times. Rory Sloane had quite a big patch where he was getting tagged out of games didn't he?

I count 4 drug cheats and a currently listed Essendon player. Do you reckon Selwood gets picked most years because he leads the comp in free kicks for?

Felt Betts had an average second half to the season. Lucky to make it for mine. Brown should be in instead.
Sloane failed when tagged so not fussed with him missing.
Selwood appears to get picked before the season starts.

Joel Selwood getting selected is one of the worst AA selections in recent times. An absolute joke!
Interesting how often these undeserving AA selections seem to be Geelong players. Running at an average of at least one a year over the past decade.

Yeah, funny that.

The new Corey Enright.
Amazing with media numbers inflated that they all still have massive hard ons for one player.
But Selwood is one of the two best players at Geelong... he said so himself!! (the new & current FIGJAM).

When I heard him say that I looked at the tv with shock then I laughed my head off. I couldn't believe he said it, tosser

It's just a team of the year, nothing special. The only things I value in football are real, they are achieved on the field in competition. Score on the board is all that matters. I have very little interest in awards that are determined by other peoples' opinions.

I have never gotten over the 1991 All Australian team which, despite winning the flag, included not one Hawthorn player. Paul Hudson kicked 62 goals that year, but the two players named on the half forward flanks ahead of him kicked 35 goals between them. Nicky Winmar kicked 17 and Gavin Brown 18. In the forward pocket they selected Gary Hocking who kicked 25. So Winmar, Brown and Hocking's combined tally of goals didn't equal Hudson's 62. Total farce.

And no Sam Mitchell in 2012? Made even worse when they awarded him a retrospective Brownlow.

As for the selection of Selwood, do we need any further proof of the love and favouritism given to this player? I only caught the end of the Team of the Year on Fox last night (Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell is far more interesting), but I heard someone make the comment "Selwood just picks himself". What does THAT mean? If he was an automatic selection, how come he was pick number 22? If Selwood "picks himself", maybe he shouldn't be selecting the team.

Yes Mitchell in 2012 getting ignored was the year I just stopped caring, they are biased, clueless or bitter retirees + a CEO that doesn't have a clue. Happy for the players that get one, not too hung over if a gun doesn't get in.
