We lost by 10 points, Mitchell was meh, Hodge clearly shouldn't have played, Ellis and Young were passengers for years and we didn't make the call in time, Murphy (did he play? don't think so)and Schoe I was at the game and had no problem with though I remember some people online flipped it at like one Schoey mistake because the level of scapegoat was at an all time high for those two back then, I've never seen two guys cop so much shit despite Ellis, Young and Savage playing the whole season and doing nothing (Savage wouldn't have a career if not for the sub rule, he is highly meh). All because Murphy played as a key

Roughead, Gunston and Young all missed a lot of gettable goals, we clearly should have won that game even though some midfielders weren't up to it on the day and Sydney kicked some arsey goals. When Sewell outplays Mitchell, Hodge and Lewis we are ******.
It was probably the loss we had to have. The hurt spurred the boys onto far greater things. I was there too and it hurt, but our redemption against the Swines with Buddy was and still is bloody fantastic

I don't mind Rance, but when people try to tell me he's the best defender of all time, I want to throw up. He's simply not that good. Dunstall, Lockett and Ablett Sr would have booted 15 on him.
Professional tunneller.
Frawley described him as the best defender in the modern era on SEN tonight.

That's not to say he's not good at what he does. But it kills me how much holding he gets away with.

1 and done.
One hit wonders.
3 in a row aint easy.

This !!!!

****ing one hit wonders!

The wheels were coming off more than a month ago. The rain helped their style in the QF. Richmond have never been a skilled side and relied on pressure.

Once the pressure was matched and their scrum style was analyzed, the result was a 40 point prelim pumping. Teams will take note.

This is such a great feeling. Back to back my arse Richmond!

Melbourne winning would be hilarious. Effectively renders the last three seasons pointless with three clubs winning after decades in the wilderness.

My only hope this season if we didn’t do something remarkable was Richmond, Sydney and geelong not winning.

2018 has been a great season. We have found players, rebuilding on the fly and staying relevant with the rest failing when it matters

Schoey played ok and Murphy was dropped to make way for Hodge, despite having played quite well in the lead up.

Suck shit Richmond and your arrogant supporters! It’s great when supporters get ahead of themselves then get a serious reality check.

Not sure which team will get a reaming from the umps this arvo. Will it be Melbourne so the AFL can manufacture a likely Pies win next week? Or will WC get screwed so the AFL can have a dream match up?

Go Dees as West Coast will just shit the bed again.

That will have nothing on what will happen in this state should the eagles win another premiership - IT CANNOT HAPPEN.

Just turning up to work will be my worst nightmare
You may just need to take one for the team. The East coast will be insufferable if the Demons get up.

You can always dust off your 2015 premiership cap and wear that to work

Hope Tom Lynch was watching
It's going to get worse as well. The AFL are not structuring football well enough to ensure a steady stream of talented players coming though the system. That debate is for another time though.
Happy for you to start a tread on that point.
Worth being discussed.

Happy they lost but the week break before the finals means winning a quarter final is clearly very disadvantageous unless your team has a lot of injuries, the current finals system seems absurd. Would've been well placed to do some damage after our loss to Richmond if we weren't carrying some nasty injuries to key players like Stratts, Birch, Jaeger, Mitchell and Burgoyne, not that it matters now.
Bulldogs would not have won 2016 without the finals bye week.

Gotta say, Collingwood's resolve and ability to continually get the job done all season has be remarkable. Even up until last night I saw them as a team who had overachieved (in a positive way) through grit and tenacity but would find themselves coming up short eventually due to a weaker bottom 6 thanks to a raft of injuries. My view has changed. They well and truly deserve their place in the Grand final and would be deserving premiers should they get up.

I have really enjoyed watching them play this year. Sidebottom and De Goey are wonderful, naturally skilled footballers. De Goey has the potential to be the most dangerous player in the league.

In this City we do! Not talking VFL era. Don’t get me started on the Lions who got to cherry pick from 2 lists.
Not to mention the player retention fund that was around $680k at a time where $300 would get you an absolute star player.
So they got to keep two stars or three very good role players to assist their success.

Gotta give it to Dimma in his presser. I thought he was as gracious as a losing coach could be. No wonder he has them playing the way they have for him.

Paid a lot of credit to Collingwood. Chris Scott should watch that and learn how to be graceful in defeat.

Richmond are now back into board challenge territory, they need to play Grand Final next year or history will show that within three years of winning a premiership they will have imploded, player unrest due to salary sacrificing to get players in for no gain, supporters calling for the coaches head and factions / coteries calling for a spill of the board.
Past history will make this happen.
