I was taking the urine a bit there, think your assessment is still on the money today. Very averse to AFL.

Someone recently suggested the NT and Tassie as the 19th and 20th teams.
That makes sense.

But Newcastle.....

I think Canberra makes the most sense for the 20th team. Going to have about 500k people by 2030, not entirely a footy region so plenty of market to capitalise on for the AFL

I agree it makes sense but it would mean changing strategy with GWS. I don't think the AFL would risk upsetting anything to do with GWS for the next decade.

I did have a cousin from there who got on the Swans rookie list around 2003.
