Can some explain to me why people think Collingwood nailed the trade period? They lost the second best ruck in the competition for essentially Bobby Hill and now are paying two players to play for teams in a premiership window, lost one of their best young players for a second round pick, paying premium dollars for McStay and picked up Mitchell.

McStay and Hill will be of some assistance to their forward line which was lacking and Mitchell will provide inside grunt that they need. Based on the McStay compo the Lions got I don't they are paying him all that much either - even if it is $600,000 that is fairly standard these days. I would say that overall they somewhat improved their list and still have picks 16, 25 and 27 in the draft.

600k plus the Grundy salary they're paying is the same Carlton are paying for Curnow/McKay it's awful list management, they got rid of Grundy for no cap relief and now only have Cameron and Cox as ruck depth, getting Hill for Henry pick is a disaster, they no longer have their second and third round picks in 2023 but they gained Mitchell I guess.
