Seeing the Age constantly filled with Collingwood articles got me wanting to find a comprehensive list of journalists and who they support ... here is our Guide ... I have separated their bias into Moderate/Fanatical.

He is pretty good when it comes to Geelong but his hatred for Hawthorn is easy to see. He loves to criticize us and Rioli when given the chance. He rearely praised Hawthorn in the second part of the year but when we were struggling early he enjoyed mentioning us as much as possible.

change of topic.

with chris judds contract having to be included in the salary cap, you wouldnt think it would push them over the cap again would it? surely not. Now that would erase a little of the pain from 29/9/12

Yep, Carlton have learnt their lesson and are now a law abiding club, strictly abiding to the salary cap rules. Such a comment actually holds less water than the suggestion Ferrer had a great chance of knocking off Djokovic last night.

Call to ban all gloves

Date: January 25 2013
Jon Pierik (Carlton fan)

NORTH Melbourne full-back Scott Thompson has called for a blanket ban on gloves, claiming their use gives forwards an unfair advantage.
The AFL has rejected six types of gloves for providing too much grip and has so far approved only four for the new campaign.
Thompson, one of the competition's premier defenders who typically has to match up on the likes of glove-wearers Travis Cloke, Chris Dawes and Quinten Lynch, said a wholesale ban was required.
''I think [that] would be a good rule because it means everyone is on a level playing field,'' he said. ''There is nothing enhancing anyone's performance. I know in the wet it really helps to have a glove.''
As revealed by Fairfax Media, the banned gloves are Under Armour Blur II, Ironclad Box Handler Safety, Nike Vapor Jet 2.0 Football Receiver, Nike Magnigrip Elite Remix 2.0, Nike Superbad and Gilbert Rugby.
''I have actually got a few of those gloves,'' Thompson told the Kangaroos' website.
''We use them in America when we are [high-altitude] training. They definitely help you mark the ball.''
Cloke's father David has criticised the AFL's decision and has asked Nike, the brand Travis uses, whether it can still provide a glove.
''Obviously Cloke wears one and he has some good hands,'' Thompson said. ''It will be interesting but he has got a whole pre-season to train without one. I will be looking forward to playing him.''

Is this Thompson challenging Cloke to a duel via the old glove slap ?

I sir .. demand satisfaction ..

In his defense, that pizza shop had never been there before.....

Am keen on peoples thoughts on indigenous footballers.....its ok to judge them on the likes of Rioli,Buddy and Goodes.....but the fact is many of them struggle to cope with the demands of "AFL fOOTY"...(Peterson , Robertson and Hooper )....So i pose this....Do we do enough ? Are some clubs better at dealing with there needs....if so , which clubs...the Bombers seem to do it well...Remember , many of these kids come straight out of the bush...bare footed , uninhibited in so many ways....yet we make demands from day 1 , both with footy and more importantly , life ....
Again , are clubs tolarent enough...??
One thing is for certain on this issue. Whether we do enough or not, I don't know . But for people who come from a different background totally to big city football and actually shine in the big time , it is so very important that clubs not just the Hawks but every team be prepared to show these kids LIFE AFTER FOOTBALL and how to succeed in that life. Lots of people fall over completely, a young indigeonous fellow who doesn;t handle it has a hell of a road ahead. As does any other person, but as the poster before said some of these guys come straight out of the bush become heros then its all over. In my opinion looking after post footy carreers is a big big responsibility.

I also thought McFarlane was a Hawthorn follower.

Nope.

Glenn McFarlane
Glenn McFarlane is a senior football writer with the Herald Sun newspaper and the author of several books, including the Official Collingwood Encyclopedia and the Shane Crawford biography, That's What I'm Talkin' About. Glenn is a passionate Collingwood supporter.

Feral Collingwood supporter.

Mark Robinson is the worst out there. Whenever a team is about to play Essendon he highlights any possible infringements by players of that team in an effort to get them rubbed out. It is so blatant it is disgraceful. And as he hates Hawthorn the most I expect he will be all over the R17 game v Bulldogs to rub out as many Hawks as he can for the following week against Essendon. After Essendon lose he can act magnanimous and impartial in the dissection of the game analysis, but that is after he has done everything possible to influence the game.

Russell Holmesby has also ruined Inside Football. It was a great paper from 1971 until the mid 90's. It would now be just a St.Kilda tribute if it wasn't for a bit of balance from the other contributors. Inside Football is now only worth getting for the pre and post draft issues and if you are interested in the stats for the pre-season comp as that is the only print media that publishes them.

Interesting that Emma Quayle is named as a fanatic Essendon supporter as I had never been able to work out who she followed.
