Here is food for thought, what if a Sydney. player actually blocks a Port players run at the ball? (and the goal is scored).
Does the umpire pay the free or let the occassion play out as they are lost in the moment?
They lost 10 of their best 22 last week to injury. They're decimated again.

Played both franchise teams in Melbourne and us and if you include the Saints based on last year all 4 teams didn't play finals. Softest start to the year of all teams. 3-1 is a false dawn. All it says is they will beat the crap teams but struggle against anyone half decent based on what I've seen so far.

Hazelby wrote a good article in the West today on how many players are on very good money and have struggled to stay on the park. Mentioned that McGovern and Cripps are both looking for two more years and have barely managed a game over the past two seasons. Nic Nat is another
Personally I wouldn’t bring any of those missing players back other than Ryan and start the rebuild now

They were pretty shit last year with all their stars back and have been since the back half of 2021. 5-30 since Round 15 2021.

‘It just makes sense’: Essendon coach wants sub scratched for five on the bench
Essendon coach Brad Scott said he would like to see the substitute rule in the AFL scrapped for five players on the bench.
Scott twins sure do whinge a lot. here's a better idea, just scrap the sub.
This deserves more than hiding on the aflw boards.
Was at the box hill vs saints game in the vflw today.
Some really classless stuff about race, sexuality and weight from members of the Peanut gallery. Reported it to the GM of the hawks post game (given it was a free game at a public place, it's hard to kick the maggots out).
GM informed me that comments had also been made by the stkilda/southern saints officials towards box hill players along the same lines.
Official complaint has been made to the AFL and VFL integrity units, and it isn't the first tine it's happened either
For a team that prides itself on the pride game and inclusion, cannot believe the comments came from them.
Should thank the saints though, fired up the girls

4 on the bench. Someone has an early injury. That club complains about being a man down and argues for a medical sub.
4 on the bench plus a medical sub. Some club then takes liberties with how they use the medical sub. Clubs complain and say it should just be a tactical sub.

Then they either rinse and repeat from the start but now with extra player they can interchange on the bench, or they do what they did last time and just dump the sub and go back to the original amount of interchange players on the bench.

Should be 5 on bench, but one or two retire at half time, leaving 3. It would need 3 injuries or concussions to have an unfair second half

The AFL won't want more active players on the bench.
They have capped interchanges for a very specific reason.

I didn't lodge a complaint. The club had already lodged a complaint before I even spoke to them. The actions of the fans just added to what they'll report at the meeting

Cause the AFL is a circus. Should just have been for concussion.
If a player is deemed concussed they cannot play for 10 days and the medical sub is activated. You won't be getting liberties with that one.

I cannot understand why it was never just concussion subs with a team being able to activate their own sub if the other sub has been activated.
