Pretty obvious early in the year that we didn't have the transitional defence going compared to late in the year
True. But I’m referring to our starting position on the graph which is based on our rating from last year.

So where are we starting the lynch mob on our March to AFL house after they snub our Captain once again tommorow night (you know it's going to happen, let's not kid ourselves).

I'll bring the Pitchforks and someone else can bring the flaming torches.

I want to put Gill in one of those old fashioned stocks and throw a rotten tomato at that smug head of his.

Personally I don't think he'll make it. I reckon his last three weeks were sub-par. More in terms of impact than stats (particularly the last game - good numbers, but I didn't think he cared, like most of the team). I think that, combined with the suspensions, will cost him this year.

Haven’t looked at the rest but he is ahead of Tom Stewart and Darcey Moore in a backline that on occasion got absolutely hammered

If he doesn’t get in, it’s a travesty

I don't think they'll dare leave him out this year, after the ridicule they got last year.

I didn't think they'd dare uphold his 3 week suspension given the ridicule they got during the week, but the AFL has no shame.

Fortunately for him, the selectors don't actually watch our games, and his stat lines look great so he'll be fine.

I expect Sicily to miss out again - due to the fact that if he didn’t get in last year, he never will.

That way, if he miraculously makes it this year, I haven’t gotten my hopes up for no reason.
Yes. I'm on this train.

Unfortunately for him Gil is still on the selection panel and hates him. That's why he missed last year.

How dare anyone question a list manager that has been at the club since... 1998. He never had any contribution in building the great team of 2000, and has presided mostly over a list which has failed to make or impact finals for the better part of 2 decades. If questions aren't being asked of the bloke then Essendon should just fold as a footy club.

The only unhealthy obsession with dodoro is from dodoro. #mosquitofistpump

This would do my head in if it was Hawthorn.

Garry Lyon: “Josh Mahoney departed the club, why?”
Barham: “He had a job at the AFL for one, I think. Josh was looking around. I think he probably wanted a change.”
Lyon: “Was it untenable between him and Dodoro?”
Barham: “No. Again, everyone was saying we had a football department that was dysfunctional. Before the season started, Peter Wright signed on for four years. I don’t know of many best and fairest winners who sign on before the season starts at a dysfunctional footy club. I just don’t think it happens.”
Barham: “They (Dodoro and Mahoney) didn’t get on. They weren’t best mates, but they did the job and they went to meetings and they worked things out and did things properly. That was, to me, overblown, but it is what it is.”

He's been in every media flog's AA team over the past few weeks. The only curveball in this is Gill farking hates him and has told people that explicitly before. Gerard Healy who was on the committee hinted last year that the general consensus was he should have been in, but for whatever reason, wasn't.

I'm definitely not an 'AFL hates us conspiracy' poster, but it would be beyond bizarre if he misses out again.

I suspect the last three weeks don't matter that much, given how dominant and magnificent he was fairly regularly during the season. I'm leaning towards him being in, especially given the outrage from all quarters last year. Actually, if he doesn't get in, I'll be amazed (although I was amazed last year).

Tim Watson would have loaded Garry's gun.
He is subdued on radio but you get the sense he is ropeable with how the year finished.

Sicily was better last year than this - but he'll get in this year.

I just hope they don't put him in the back pocket due to thier approach of using the Geelong best 22 as the default team then replacing with other players.

Also - Nick Daicos is awesome and deserves to be in it - but if the other Daicos had a different surname I don't think he'd be mentioned at all.

re the Daicos boys - it can work two ways is my feeling. I think Josh Daicos has been very impressive in his own right - he is a very classy user of the ball, an astute decision maker and a bit of an energiser bunny in terms of his workrate. I suspect that being the permanent 'lesser' of the Daicos brothers (even if the gap isn't that big at times) takes away some of his shine. Sure the name has been very helpful over his career but his position relative to his brother isn't. I'd love him in our team.

He's a great player but having him in an AA side would be a slap in the face to every wing who was great but never got an AA selection. He isn't a shadow on peak Isaac Smith and Smith never made it close to an AA selection.
