Good stuff, Cripps best on ground for me...Low key, but took some hits early..no theatrics and then had an impact on getting the ball forward after half time.

Reckon Sam Walsh was best on ground.

Same, what a redemption arc for Vossy. It's been an incredible turnaround for him and for the Bluuz.

Shows why it’s important to do your apprenticeship in coaching. Walked into the Lions job from being a newsreader - no coaching courses, no assistant job. Clearly has leadership skills but wasn’t cut out to be a coach so soon.

Credit to him - went away and did the hard yards for about a decade as an assistant and is now getting the job done.

No doubt but the best players find a way. Quiet last week too.

I’m 5/5 so far this finals series. Predicted Dees straight sets. Got a couple decent multis running for Pies (my actual tip) and Lions (my hope) in play.

Like to see the heat turned up on that degenerate Goodwin now. He got 1 premiership in an asterix year with that list and he’s a deadbeat.
Finn Maginness thinks so. Hope he's giving the double cobra middle finger salute to Goody. He deserves it the cocksmack.

Lets all laugh at Melbourne...

What’s Goodwhinge gonna moan about this time. I guess he’s ok that Picket tried to deck anyone that got near him
A couple of very ordinary acts out there on the field by Pickett tonight, don’t see that kind of stuff to often these days.

In fact the entire Melbourne team had a lack of discipline, really they are a much more talented side than the Blues but they gave away so many silly 50s (Pickett again).

Lions shouldn’t be too worried about the Blues but the Blues won’t go down without a fight.

The whole game was poor by Melbourne but the last half of that last quarter was one big choke. They had so many moments where if even one player over those moments had made the right decision, hit a target or kicked a goal they win.

Instead they stuffed every moment up. Blues extremely lucky tonight but sometimes it’s just what you need.

They’re coach in particular.
Goodwhinge will probably blame Finn Maginness …

Meanwhile, there is now one ginormous traffic jam outside my window and thousands of moronic supporters complete with honking horns, drunken singing and acts of general stupidity with oncoming trams. In other words, just another Friday night in Melbourne.

I look at this Carlton team and it reminds me of the RTB Saints teams from back in the day.

They have several high end stars and several absolute battlers. Granted there are some good players in between, but the gulf between the top several and the bottom several is huge.

Stars - Reiwoldt, Hayes, Dal Santo, Goddard, Milne, Fisher, Montagna

Spuds - Eddy, Peake, Dempster, McQualter, Clarke (x2)

Stars - Weitering, Docherty, Walsh, Cripps, Curnow, Cerra, Saad

Battlers - Cottrel, Owies, Fogarty, Cunningham, Cincotta

They got away with even more sniping holdin sly pushes than they were pinged for. I guess it’s finals

Gee there a lot of lame things in football nowadays but there are few as lame as the woof carry on when Saad kicks it, especially when he pokes it 15 metres
They used to do it for Val Perovic in the 80s. One of my collingwood-supporter mates maintained "It's the only English that f**king Carlton supporters can speak."
