Finally a moderately close game, with Geelong and Hawthorn only a couple of points apart at half time. Albeit, it has blown out a bit with Hawthorn kicking six unanswered goals.
This has been a great game of AFLW football, one of the best I’ve seen over the 9 seasons. Some of the passages of play from Hawthorn have been sensational.

I haven't actually been able to see most of it - my eldest gave me a gastro yesterday so I've been mostly shuffling around like a zombie and trying to keep food down. Just saw the scores and thought, finally, a match that doesn't feel over by half time!

Do yourself a favour and watch the highlights when they pop up, end to end mixed with some really brilliant skills.

They have a lot of Irish players. They're very good.
Like they were talking about in the commentary you could actually really see an Australia V Ireland National match of Australian Rules in the future being a super competitive match now.

The Irish would probably win.

Looks like Geelong have goal songs for their players - the game at times sounded like it was at an Irish pub after a few Geelong goals :D

Also, interesting that Fox reversed the cameras for the game, so that you could see the crowd that attended the game in the Brownlow/Premiership stands as opposed to an empty Hickey stand.

Bulldogs with a win, admittedly only over Sydney but still.

Yeah it probably says more about who they’ve played but have somehow won 2 in a row after not looking like they’d win 1 all season, they’ve actually really just gone right back to the basics with how setup their defence, having experience behind the ball has helped and the pressure led by Pritchard in the middle means they’ve been able to get into games and scrap it out.

As soon as Morphett went down in the Ruck it was matter of time before Sydney fell off, Sydney another team cruelled by losing 2 of their best with Molloy and now Morphett out.

North struggling in the wet again. Still goalless heading towards half time, albeit with their opponents in Richmond having only scored one goal themselves. The ground is covered in puddles of water.

We need to find a way to bring the rain in for our match with them. Can we invest in a weather machine?

Yep being played on a swamp.

Could flood the ground I guess when we play them

Our first game was in really hot weather up in Brisbane but it has rained in every game we have played since, the Geelong game was really heavy rainfall too. I don't think we are terrible in the wet, it just hampers the scoring in general when it gets very wet.
