If they do they’ll most likely be brutally knocked out in the first round.
Whoever finishes 7th or 8th will be bundled out easily. There's a clear top 3 (us, North and Brisbane despite North pumping them in the opening round), a middle 3 (Hawks, Freo and Richmond), and then a big gap between 7th and the rest.

Freo, Hawks and Essendon look to be making their move this season in recent games, don’t know whether they have all improved after the challenge of coming up against the Crows or they were just really exposed by the level of play the Crows brought against them.

I think Ella Roberts from the Eagles just played the best quarter I reckon I’ve seen at AFLW level in the 1st quarter of their game against Port

11 disposals (10 kicks, 1 handball) , 6 marks (4 contested), 3 score involvements and a goal 🤯

I missed the first quarter, but Port were pretty dominant in that second one. One point game at half time.

Goody went and wore Roberts like a second skin and Roberts had 1 touch compared to the 11 in the 1st quarter. Changed the entire complex of the game from Eagles dominance to them getting destroyed.

I really hope we can attract Goody to the Crows one day.
Think that’s a doubtful one to shake loose, only hope would probably be her getting totally annoyed at being always asked to be a tagger for a big part to start her career when she has a lot more strings to her bow.

We might be able to promise her more team success, at least in the next few years.

Mind you, Port seem to be on the rise at the moment.

Given the current plight I’d almost try to shake a Teakle or Levicki free from them first.

Also they’ve totally stolen the role Ash Saint is now playing up at stoppages from how the Crows use Ponter.

Still don’t think Lauren Arnell can coach but that’s being covered because they have supreme fitness and aren’t lacking for talent or toughness on field Port. Arnell and lack of height down back through injury is probably the only thing that will stop them making finals.

In terms of the Crows drafting as I posted the other day…
IMG_3731.jpeg

Looks like someone tipped out a box of textas on a jumper and gave it to Port

And to be fair I don't mind it
I like Port's pride guernsey. One of the best this round. Hawks and Saints have good designs too. I'm a little disappointed that the Crows' pride guernsey looks pretty much the same every year. The other clubs get a couple of the girls to design their guernseys. Crows should do the same. I'm sure there are creative players within the group.

Our design was great - the first time they used it. It gets a bit boring when they use the same design every year - only changing it because they changed the home guernsey last year.

And it’s a missed opportunity by the club to not have a different design each year. Get the players involved. Get Rainbow Crows involved. We’ve had some great indigenous guernseys in the past. Why can’t we do the same for Pride guernseys?

Another high standard display happening down at Whitten Oval…

AFL have absolutely done their best to damage this competition, expect they now come out at the end of the season citing the competition needs some sort of intervention, either that or they’ll just threaten to take games away.

Seems some higher profile football people have finally cottoned on to what’s happening tactically league-wide currently, liked this take from ex-Saint/Blue Matthew Lappin

Herald Sun’s head AFLW journo also might finally start asking the right questions too

Ironically ex-Carlton AFLW coach Daniel Harford has also been the one leading the charge against these negative ‘save your job’ spares behind the ball tactics on Fox broadcasts in recent games.

Carlton kick a goal in the last minute of the match to sneak over Fremantle, and save us the ignominy of falling to sixth on the ladder.

A bit sad that we are now relying on other results to finish top 4, but here we are. In other news, Hawthorn who we beat fairly easily are sitting on top of the ladder.
