A relative of mine went out with his half sister, Lucien in the late 70's and early 80's while they was living in Paris. Charles and Lucien shared the same Vietnamese mother who was a madam of a brothel. Lucien was essentially sold into slavery as a child, working 7 days a week in a restaurant and the mother would take all her money. I suspect even worse things happened to her. Charles was the classic charming, charismatic sociopath. She said if they ever hung him, they would pull the hood off and it wouldn't be him. He really was a monster. If people are interested in him, Richard Nevillle wrote a book about it many years ago and there have been a couple of doco's about him including on Netflix

That's quite sad but it's interesting his sister, who probably knows more of hard life than most of us do, also knows him as a monster. She could see beneath.

I'm pretty sure she grew up in the same household, with her father, a French soldier becoming Charles step father. I suspect Lucienne was sold into slavery after the French left Vietnam and her mother fell on hard times. I don't think there was any love lost between Lucienne and Charles, she always seemed to be fearful of him. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but for some reason she believed he killed their brother or at least organized for someone to kill him. IIRC it was shortly after he was released from prison in India. It was all so long ago that I really haven't kept up with it. Lucienne died in 2019.

Not sure if anyone’s being following this story.

Mum of 5 month old twins is working as a deliveroo driver with kids in the car and car is stolen. 1 twin found in the stolen car a bit later but the other twin has been missing.

Read this whole story about how the alleged kidnapper and baby were found by two women because it’s kind of extraordinary just how incompetent the police were.

Wow ... just incredible. That baby would have died. Not only did these women identify the kidnapper by being on the ball and making image comparisons but after she was taken in to custody, on just a few snippets of information, found the car the baby was abandoned in.

Well done.

Great story. They used their brains and common sense, which was more than the police did 👍

Car theft down from 1 in 50 to 1 in 200
Robbery has declined due to shift from cash to EFT

Good stats. Although looking at my areas facebook group, there's been some car thefts around here where thieves casually stroll right up the driveway when the residents are at home, covered by CCTV but I don't think there's been any arrests yet.

Kids breaking into houses, with weapons and prepared to use them.

The police have caught all four now and have admitted they are known to police. The Queensland youth bail system strikes again.

One of them was released from the watchhouse just hours before the break in. Seems they just don't care, in one door out the other playing revolving doors.

I think this probably deserves its own thread but if you haven’t watched the Netflix documentary “Orgasm Inc” I highly recommend it. Nicole Daedone truly broke the glass ceiling and became a leader of a modern day cult that has been accused of orchestrating trafficking and rape of women. Serious what the f**k type areas and can’t believe FBI investigation has led to no charges to date. They are still in operation and even have a non profit arm that runs under a different name but credits her as the founder of their teachings after she sold her stake in the “company” One Taste for millions in 2017.

Watched this a while back and just thought 'Yeah Nah not for me"

As in the doco, the cult or all of the above haha
all the above, 🤦‍♀️ , I understand this could have been very helpful for some, but I could not for one minute imagine myself or any one I know for that matter, learning masturbation techniques in a group situation and then being talked into helping others. And this was all physical, not just videos or lectures. Some people were very gullible IMO to think it was OK to go so far.

I wish they broke into my house instead.

I'd be scared of that kind of confrontation inside the house. Once I came home and my cat rushed me with it's hair standing on end and back up making a weird kind of hissing noise and I knew instantly, someone had been in the house and they may have still been in it.

I grabbed the cat, backed out and went to a neighbours. Good cat, when I went back in with company the back door was wide open and drawers had been rifled through.

I'd be scared too, or at least rushing with adrenaline.

Wish it was like that in 6701.
4 break ins for me the last 18 months.

Crime up,population down

At least you can still buy a cheap house.

Oh ... that's not good. Do you have cctv, did they get much and are you insured?
3 times got young fellas trail-bike from locked shed.
3 times got it back.
One time they got in the house and all they took was 2 jars of coins, little kids.
Don't even worry about calling the cops.
Got insurance,no CCTV.

Sounds like the same people/kids. How did you get the bike back? Might be time for a camera.

That's so great you got the trail bike back. It's horrible when the kids stuff gets stolen.

I had an incident here just before Christmas in the middle of the day, so I've just spent quite a bit on CCTV.
