I got the game on release, didn’t warm to it but returned to it last year and was hooked, it’s a fantastic game and it sucks we’ll never get a days gone 2.
Some of the criticism is definitely warranted but jeez I had a lot of fun with Days Gone. Unfortunate news.

Great news but the damage is done. Beginners and anyone who wasn't far progressed into a project have jumped to UE and Godot.

Yes. And if the article is correct even the PC ports are listed for remaster when they only launched on PC much more recently and already look great and scale well with desktop hardware.

If anyone is following the Ubisoft share situation there are some interesting conspiracy theories. They range from the CEO/family or minority shareholders like Tencent deliberately tanking the company to buy back more shares cheaply to the activist investors recently calling for the company to switch to private to prevent any buyout (this one is less conspiracy but activist investors are often layoff enthusiasts and honestly Ubisoft couldn't get any worse right now). AC Shadows launch is going to be interesting.

Enjoyed this commentary on Ubisoft's current plight, particularly Greg's comment when he compares the experience of playing their most recent games as "like being in an all-you-can-eat oatmeal buffet". Really good breakdown of the various tactics employed to upsell to consumers (over making good games).

I was keen and got up for the pre-order after reading about it last week. But almost 500 AUD when they're charging 70 USD for shipping....almost a third of a cost of the item....couldn't justify it, especially when they won't ship until Q1 2025.

Never owned it. Trying to think back to the PSone and I think the only platformer I actually owned for it was Crash Bandicoot 3.
Been wanting a remake for years and it's finally coming
Owned the game back in the day never completed it the jank controls were too much for me in the end but love the game.
Will pick this up especially that it now has modern controls
