To me, it looked like Frost wasn't having a bar of what May was saying initially, so May persisted.

Which was the correct thing to do, because Frost's spoil was terrible and our defenders often do that and all do it at once in a pack. Our ground ball wins in D50 and opponent scores from inside 50's have been shocking this year so any player adressing that with on field leadership is doing the right thing.
Hallelujah someone gets it

Any of you guys want Misso's job? I don't think we're getting darren burgess from the sounds of it
The more things change, the more they stay the same! This must be a joke. The key qualification is an undergraduate degree in Sports Science or the equivalent. And this person will be in charge of, and provide direction to, the Medical team!! WTF, they are having a lend of us, aren't they?

I was happy with the initial bake he gave Frosty - he deserved to be called out on that ridiculous punch, but I think he carried it on too long. Didn't need to still be in his ear at the quarter break. That's the coaches job. It's a fine line - I think May needs to be careful not to be a bully. But isolated ranting for stupidity is fine. May would want to be careful too - I can imagine crazy Frosty going haywire on his ass some time at training if he pushed it too far. Frost has a bit of muscle on him now and if he snaps, May might regret it.

It's a bit hard not to, have you seen the size of those things!?

That ad is extraordinary, I know people fresh out of uni that easily qualify.
I shared a group house with a bloke doing a sports science degree. I used to help him with his essays and he used to give me beers. So I have a vague idea about the threshold for a pass mark in those quals.

So yes indeed. Yikes

Oh, I disagree.

Very little intervening, especially from the senior players.
More-so the younger ones who are more PC, than older heads who've been around more.

I think he wanted to make a real statement to Frosty, and seems the point got thru.
Many footy commentators reflected that the punch by Frosty was back into play, in dangerous territory.

This club has to lift its footy standards, which includes straight, and blunt feedback. If some players are too sensitive to wear that, then they are in the wrong business.

I think your last sentence is more about your own discomfort seeing this chat happen, than about Frosty & May.
You’re right. I’m not comfortable with seeing someone humiliated. I doubt it would matter who it was. The fact that it was Frost doesn’t make any difference.

If May had just given Frost direct, blunt feedback, this wouldn’t be an issue. He didn’t. He kept being demonstrative and vociferous long after the incident has occurred.

As for young players being ‘PC’, I wouldn’t know. I don’t know them. But if you have some evidence to back that up, I’d be glad to hear it.

I think it’s time to take all major decision making out of the hands of the MFC board, I have no doubt better results can be achieved with maybe a halftime members raffle or random names drawn from a hat or even some sort of pass the parcel set up, who ever wins gets to be what ever they wish, coach, ceo, sports medicine director outside mid with elite skills by foot you get to choose.

I would bid for being this weeks replacement ruck

Don't they have to advertise the job anyway , whether they already have someone or not ?
I suspect/hope your right.

Maybe Frost wasn't listeing/ackknowledging at the start, but he ended up listening., and it does seem they worked better after this event.

Minimum 5 years doing a similar job is the important requirment in the job. They also list post-grad and accredation as highly desirable, which really means essential.

Setting the bar at undergrad is only there because their would be experienced older applicants that came through a system where having just an undergrad degree could actually get you a job.

Finally some common sense

Player ratings have Brayshaw and Trac ranked #1 and #4 for the season from their draft class. I know it's a flawed metric blah blah but shows how weak that draft is looking in hindsight. Though doesn't help that GWS discarded with three players from the top ten and the number one pick has chronic conscussion-related issues.

Also lol at Hipwood and May have two of the four best individual quarters of anyone in the comp for round 15 in the third quarter while being in the same part of the ground and while the game was taken away from us. Coaching at its finest.

Of course its a flawed metric LMAO De Goey isn't even in the top 5. You run that draft again now he goes in the top 2 at worst.

Made the point during the game and asked the question afterwards why was May not moved to hipwood and had the name Charlie Cameron repeatedly thrown at me as some sort of justification.

Fair enough. You could be right.

I’ll leave it at that. To be honest, I feel a little hypocritical carrying on too much about someone carrying on too much.

Yeah, and I call BS on that. Seriously, have you ever liked somebody going at you all afternoon? Frosty's playing the team role and hosing down the controversy. But I have no doubt he's dirty about it. Did you see his face that day? Anyway, he's not soft by your definition, so whatever. But my question is on May and whether he can justify going at it that long. Can't he say his piece and just STFU? As I said, I was fine with the first bake May gave him, but why the constant ranting? Where does he get off being this high and mighty after 3 or 4 games and turning up to the club in the shape he did. Respect needs to be earned. He hasn't earned the right yet, IMO. I'll say I've got more respect for Frosty at this point than May - even though May is a better player (but not by that much). May had better be pretty F'ing perfect after this.

Are you sure there wasn't some back and forth going on? My impression was that Frost was the one chatting May up at quarter time. In any case, should be able to leave it on the park and not carry grudges / frustration around because a player is too precious.

Everyone talks up Lever as being a "defensive general" at 22 and whatever 5 or 6 games he's chalked up for us. Don't have an issue with May walking in the door and throwing his hat in the ring given he's a far more experienced player despite only playing 3 or 4 or however many games for us.

Sucked in.

When you get demonstrative, you don’t get results.

What's more important: the message, or the way it is delivered?

That ad is extraordinary, I know people fresh out of uni that easily qualify.

You know early to mid 20s graduates with the following capabilities?
  • Demonstrated capability to plan, co-ordinate and drive the implementation of a world class High Performance and Medical Program.
  • Proven experience of working and leading collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary program environment.
  • Proven capacity to manage, develop and drive staff towards the creation and implementation of a world leading High Performance and Medical program.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a High-Performance program, working with elite athletes and delivering high level preparation programs in high-performance sports.
Those are some early starters!

Wasn't a justification - that's who May was on. If you want a justification, you'll have to petition the coaches as no one on the Bigfooty board has to answer for the defensive match-ups.

I knew who he was playing on, that was my point, didn’t need a justification for why he was playing on Cameron but got it shouted at me as one when people assumed I was talking a shot at May.

I think you read tone into posts that isn't there.
