My workmate told me her nephew is backpacking in the US, and 'made a friend at the hostel' who he went to a college football game with.

That friend was ANB. Apparently a ripper bloke and only when pressed did he mention what he did for a job.

A quick Instagram search confirmed he is indeed in the US of A. Very cool.

Would obviously depend on the age at which we get Norm Smith from the time stream.

I just realised, I've gone into off-season mode where - when I have nothing better to do - I re-watch our matches that I have saved on IQ. Only over the year I have pretty much deleted the ones we didn't win during various spotfire tantrums, so I only have a collection of the games we played well in.

I also tend sometimes to fast-forward through any quarters that I recall as being depressing.

So once again, in 2018, I will go into the H&A season with totally unrealistic expectations because I have become used to seeing us playing well. Harmes is in particular trouble. I've watched that first quarter he played against St Kilda so many times that if he doesn't morph into Gary Ablett Senior and get approximately 12 goals each game I am going to be attempting to trade him on a weekly basis.

Ever look back at a past girlfriend & go 'What was I thinking?' This is similar. Go back & watch players we thought were sure things play like the spuds we now know they are. Only thing is we hardly touched the ball that game so I didn't get to appreciate the turnovers of various spuds. Might be better to watch games we only lost by 10 goals to truly appreciate the awfulness of Nicholson, Morton, Strauss, Gysberts, Maric, Evans etc

They say you need to hammer one or two drafts to set up your team.

So now from 2014 we have Petracca, Brayshaw, Lever, ANB, Stretch and Omac. A good case can be made for all being best 22. Add in possibly AVB if he gets injury free.

Then from 2015 we have Oliver and Weid.

So pretty much 7-8 best 22 players from those two drafts with our two most talented players included.
