Id say its better to have the best team from the get go, you should find that your first few trades would be downgrades or sideways trades anyway so you shouldnt need much room in the cap.

My question-

If Smedts is not named is anyone thinking of starting him as D7 in order to get Buggs emergency score, or too risky? anyone thinking of doing the same or similar?

Too risky for mine, especially when there are plenty of more options available. Smedts is hardly going to be a keeper, so it makes no sense to me.

Why in heck does the lockout end in 1 day 6 hrs, when it clearly should end in 6 hours. Could be some cheating going on if it stays open after the next game starts..

I think the timer is referring to the next stage of the lockout (i.e. full lockout). The game status currently says "partial lockout" so I'm guessing that will remain but lock out Carlton/Richmond players. So, because the game status won't technically change (will still say 'partial lockout') the timer must refer to a change in status...if that makes sense. I could be completely wrong though.

you're completely right. noone will be able to cheat.

Any ideas for a good rook that wont play round 1? Had kennedy on the pine and wouldn't mind the extra points.

WAIT! it just changed to 6 hrs
So it was wrong, Was somebody from HS reading this?

not worth it man. trust me! with 2 on the bench, how are you going to cover injuries with only 1 player on the bench? may as well just select a 94k hack to fill the spot unless you want one that's going to play from round 2 onwards? give me the lotto numbers when you work out who's going to be selected next week. :p

Is there a rookie in the game that's going to be a keeper?? If so fill me in!!!
The reason im considering it is because I don't see Morris or any othe rookie as a much better option then smedts even if smedts doesn't play round 1.

It's all a lottery mate, take your pick.:

Lee Spurr, Jack Paine, Troy Davis, Cam Delane, Sam Sha, Jacob Brennan, Peter Yagmoo, Josh Tynan...

Can someone please enlighten me on the new DPP rule, when doing trades?

I think it works like this:

Say you have Kennedy on your midfield bench and Couch on your forward bench. You can trade Couch out, move Kennedy to your forward bench (as he is DPP) and trade in a pure midfielder (e.g. Clay Smith).

When viewing my team, this year I don't have the little lights stating if a player is reported, injured, suspended or selected in initial starting 22/25. But talking to my mate last night, he says he has it on his. Does anyone else ? and if so, why don't I ?

It's a SuperCoach Gold exclusive feature this year.

Cheers for that, but how is that any different to the old way?
- DPP Kennedy to the forwards and Couch to the mids and then trading out Couch for Smith?

Edit: hold on, I think you just used a bad example.

I think I get Impromtu's strategy.

He has got a few Defender and Forward premiums in his mid, so that when he trades out one of his def/fwd rookies he can move one of the premiums to their alternative DPP (without the need for a DPP link), and then he will bring in a midfield premium/downgrade in his place...

F*ck, I wish I had known earlier.

Yeah sorry, replace Couch in my example with a pure forward (e.g. Hall).
