He's a shit footballer. Never rated him, always hated him before he started screwing people around with his drug use. He said that he "felt compromised". Because he was going off to a football match to give his players instructions to win a match, and he felt that if his players successfully followed these instructions, that it would disadvantage rather than benefit his club in the long term.

How does one "feel" cheated? Or "feel" let down? Or "feel" disillusioned?

It's about perception, no matter what the reality is.

It's like giving money to a charity, when that money is actually going to be used by someone else to get an edge on your own self. If you never know then you perform the action without "feeling compromised". If you do find out about the scam, then it hasn't altered your behaviour, but you will "feel compromised".
