GF Tickets

I will be flying over from Perth and (unlikely though it is) would be happy to hear from anyone wishing to offload tickets.

So that team listed just under your avatar.... Is that just for the finals, I've seen a few others who I know are not Giants supporters do it. Your sig says you Love your Norf. Nineteen and a half thousand posts - would I be right in assuming this is the first one on this board?

Hmmmmm.....

That's a strange breakdown for the clubs isn't it?

Every club gets 250 tickets except:
Adelaide 300
Carlton Freo Wet Toast 800
Norf 816
Colliwobbles 824

What makes those teams special?
Those clubs have no hope of making a grand final so the figures are rubbery at best.
Probably used as inducements for them to sell memberships.

I figure those are only for sponsors or players. You know, you hear some of our players say that the club took them down to the grandfinal in 2011 or 2012 to see what it's like, experience the atmosphere etc. Or the camera pans up to a group of players from a club that didn't make it all sitting together. Then there's the staff members or board members and their families. But I reckon the majority of those go to the high end sponsors - you think Dyldam is going into the ballot? Or Virgin, or Toyo?

250 tickets for a club is not going to general members.

It just seems odd to me that both WA teams get 800 though while us (and even Hawthorn, or Geelong and the rest of the Vics only get 250)

Ok so I have been a Melbourne member since my young bloke defected from the Blues when Pat Mckenna from Gisborne got drafted a couple of years ago, we have been up to Spotless twice in the last 2 years and enjoyed the experience however we are going to risk not seeing the Prelim live and enter the ballot. Just wanted to let everyone know I first attended a GF in 84 as a 15 year old who saved up and flew over from Perth with his old man, then watched My Team the Mighty Pies win on my Birthday in 1990 (6/10/1990 thanks to Peter Sumich missing that goal), these two days honestly are up there as the two most fulfilling days of my life so Giants fans if you are contemplating not coming, Effing Think again!!!!!!! You need to beg, borrow and steal to get here if The Giants make is as you will love the day itself.

Even a bad day at the footy is better than a good day at work.

Lets out a huge sigh of relief - have now registered :):):) and am happy to give up the three week January holiday to the Northern Territory to pay for the two days in Melbourne with the tickets.

Can't see a problem with checking the "I don't mind standing room" box - even though I do - because a) I don't care. I want to be there and b) I don't think it will come to that. Standing room or restricted viewing are usually the last things sold and as a club allocated member (in priority 2) I think we'll be ahead of that.

But in the meantime.... YAY!!!!:D

Just a tip
I'm tecnology hampered, although it's a fact I work in IT for 30 years, weird, isn't it?
You can log in prior to the time and get to the tkt confirmation page. Then hit it at the time. Expect that will be useful to get a good seat for the SF

I'm not overly concerned where the seat would be, but would it be a fair assumption to say that they would put all 10k GWS member allocation seats together?

My problem is I have 2 memberships, club and AFL and I have never tried to buy a GF ticket with the AFL so am unfamiliar with how that process works. But would probably prefer to sit with own supporters so i have a decision to make.

Do you have to go through the ballot process with both memberships?

I can choose to use AFL one in the same ballot process in with the club members, these memberships are counted in the club totals, this would be to sit in the general reserve or wait until the monday of GF week when competing teams club support members are given preference but there is no club v club allocation numbers just both teams first in best dressed. But just looking up ticket prices now seems the clubs allocation through the ballot is most likely a lot cheaper depending on the category of seat, so decison made easy.

Registered as well for priority 3 fingers crossed

I signed up to the giants when you beat the swans round 1 couple years back... had a few drinks liked what i saw and got onto it. Been to half the games your played in melboure including against my own club. Happy that i'm signed up hopefully we get through!

Registration put in.

Like others i included the standing room option but tbh....i am pretty sure with the (relatively) tiny member base matched with high ticket prices and majority needing to buy airfares etc.. that those that have registered will likely be receiving Cat1 tickets.

I'm in priority 3 but simply can't imagine there is the hardcore base set in yet to fill a competing teams quota.

With only 6k tickets going to GWS members for the prelim, how many do you think will go the GF? 30% - 40% of those?
Book your flights now as prices will quadruple as soon as the siren goes.

All GWS members are guaranteed at seat, so why would you select standing room unless you wanted to stand?
Club said unlikely members would miss out but recommended taking all options initially. We trust tje club. Seemed to be they couldn't help unless some sort of tkt was ontained in the intial reg
