I know its early days, but I wanted to know what is the best way to get tickets for the Grand Final. I'm a Silver AFL member and won't get them through that or through my club.

I've noticed quite a few websites around offering packages etc (Im from Melbourne so don't need flights/accom), and just wanted to get people's thoughts on some of the better packages. Also is ebay an option for tickets ? What sort of prices can I expect to pay ??

I paid around $900 to an AFL sanctioned scalper in 07.
I've used other methods including gumtree and the Geelong board in previous years. A lot cheaper.

Can anyone shed some light on the MCC reserved tickets that you can get in the ballot. Can you register to get more than one or is it essentially 12,000 individual tickets so you can't sit with anyone you know?
Cheers

It's one per person, but you can register up to eight membership barcodes in a group so you can sit with friends/family.

Just to expand a little bit, does that mean that potentially if you register for 8 that maybe only 5 will be selected and hence 3 will miss out?

Or is it if you register for 'x' amount and get selected, that whole group goes through?

Thanks for the help.

The members of a cricket club get priority, footy club members rate behind AFL members.
Both these groups should rate behind members of the competing clubs, I'd prefer they didnt get any tickets at all.

What sort of nonsense is joining a cricket club to go the footy - fraudsters courtesy of the Victorian Government.

its all or nothing. you either get the 8 or you get none. I think the block of 8 has the same chance as a single but only one chance if you know what i mean.

If you go 8 separate apllications you'll get 8 chances but obviously your extremely unlikely to get 8 more like 2 or 3.

Pay around 2 grand for a corporate lunch and ticket.
Really adds to the atmosphere on the day.

I have already paid for 2 corporate packages to the grandfinal this year, for a total cost of $1600.

Mind pointing me in the direction of those packages ??

PS: I posted this for a mate who is an AFL Silver Member Collingwood club support.
