His keeping has deteriorated badly in the last few games, missing chances that you would expect a school boy keeper to take.

His batting has been average for a while now and he just doesn't make runs when it counts any more.

Is it time for Gilchrist to give it away and give Haddin a go?

I am thinking yes at the moment.

Yep!

Shouldnt be yaking on TV until he has done something.

God! there isnt much between his ears is there.

Should retire from one form to extend his career in another IMO.

I used to think he should keep playing tests, but the stats surely suggest he should eventually give away the tests to keep playing ODI's. The fact there's less than 1% chance he'd be around for the next World Cup would make that scenario fairly unlikely though.

I think so because i dont really reckon he can play a test innings anymore, i mean Brad Hogg made batting look easy the other day. I think his keeping ability is fine at the moment, and just the batting is a concern hopefully he can dominate India but unless a big score is around maybe he might retire.

Nope. Gilly still is one of the safest spots in the team

i disagree if gilly is mising easy chances and his batting has become unconsistent where as haddin deserves it he performed well in a recent 2020 as a batsman and gilly was still in the team.....i think its time for gilly to go:thumbsdown:

Outside of runs on the board, what does he actually have over Haddin at the moment?

nothing hes aging and his keeping wasn't wat it used to be gilly vs haddin could be the only way to decide in the nets or in a domestic match

You are being way too tough on Gilly. Hes oner of the best wicket keepers in the world and is extremely dangerous and entertaining with the bat. Hadden has looked good but i would still stick with GIlly.

Last few games? You mean half a game?

We needed runs and he folded like he has quite often.

Im a massive Gilly fan but I think he should quit tests.

2 centuries he has made when no one else has made one, thats a bad sat. One of those centuries was when someone made a 90 im quite sure, just doesnt make the runs that often when we need them. Its all good to turn a 380 into 500 but how about turning 200 into 350 odd...
