I was speaking to trethers about a week ago about his year with bundy and all the hooha which has been spoken about him on this site.
He is very disapointed with his own performances this year and wished he could have done a lot more to show his worth. He also said he couldnt understand why everytime he went out to bat everyone commented on how much money he was getting when he wasnt getting paid as a player.
In regards to this site all he said was that he had no hard feelings towards nugget at all but said he wasnt sure how mayman could get himself up out of bed everyday knowing he has to go out and be the w***er he is.
In our whole conversation not once did he use any excuses for his year and did not mention once that he was suffereing from ross river for 3 months of the year which resulted in missing training for most of the year and missing games against rosedale and wurruk.

Are you serious mate???

In our whole conversation he never mentioned he had ross river!!!! You are quite obviously Mark Trethowan. Why would you mention that otherwise??

Mark looking over your year, you had a bad year everyone does and yes illness is a legitimate excuse, don't get so caught up in the game (as it is just that) and some of the stuff wriiten on here (unlike others). Maybe other posters need to realise that you have a premiership medallion and they don't!!!

The rumour is regarding Adrian Burgiel playing cricket elsewhere next year. Not sure why, but that is what I assume everyone has heard.

Yeah, well done to Bundy. Most consistent side of the year, and taking out the one day final and the grand final proper is a great effort.

Maybe other posters need to realise that you have a premiership medallion and they don't!!!

I think it is fairly obvious that the other posters realise that Mark has won a premiership medallion. As you can see, I had already mentioned that Bundy won the flag.

Adrian Burgiel is looking to play Premier Cricket in 2010/2011.
The rumour doing the rounds down here is that he may play at Gormandale CC. God i hope this isn't true for a couple of reasons, 1) Gormy already have a million and 1 gun players, so don't need another boom recruit and 2) he'll smash the pedestrian TDCA attacks around, Steve Nicholls style.

this could well be true, but not the tdca. apparently the rumor about the blow up with maffra started with brett lanagin saying he was leaving if he couldn't take over as captain. maffra didn't wanna lose brett so they went to burgs and burgs then said to kevin lanagin, club legend and father of brett, that he would not play under brett, so, he has looked elsewhere. also, brett has been offered big money to take the captain coach role at another smca club and is seriously considering it. its well known in smca circles that brett and burgs don't get along, never socialising with each other, or having a quiet sunday beer. looks like maffra might be without there 2 biggest stars next year. rumor is burgs is getting big bucks to play for lakes who have finally got their man after years of offering big dollars. burgs may not be travelling to lakes in an empty car either!

of course, the other rumor on the streets is that ian wrigg has finally seen the light and is heading for the exit at wurruk. interesting choice of destination for big toe ball sees him more than likely heading to rosedale kilmany. this will see darren keamo take over the head job at wurruk with scott osborne and al campbell going with ian. when you add ken anderson, geoff kinnish and demon dessent, rk could be the oldest side ever. clubs will have to start offering seniors discount on beers when rk are in town.

Not mates, are you serious???

That is a pretty massive rumour, unless of course you are brett or burgs taking the piss.

Blair is Nick's cousin Nick's dad Wilfred was a star footballer in the ODFL and Blairs dad Finegan was a pretty prominent figure in the 1970's movement of liquor licensing and allowing pubs to open longer. He then got into sports medicine and was a trainer at melbourne for years.

Blair will be playing coach he will be an energetic left arm wrist spinner who is a capable lower order bat. Look for him next year to pull on the magpies jumper and kick a few bananas!

well, things are definitely hotting up on the cricket front. on my lunch break, earlier this week, i saw cain logan having lunch with adrian burgiel. looks as though the rumors about burgiel moving on from maffra may have some truth to them.

It might be that Burgs works in the construction industry and Cain runs a building company!!!

Might be trying to win his business!!!

Just wondering what the go is with Ryan Skeen next season??
Devestating left hand middle order batsman who can handle spin or pace. Also a left arm strike bowler who can swing it and has a mean bouncer.
Was in the college A grade side on occassion last year but nothing permanent. Won a few awards in B grade.
Surely Anderson has to give him a go next year or Skeen will be moving on?
