what?

I was one of his biggest critics yet he has proved me wrong. He has had a very good year and been very important for us.

Does the size of the profile reflect player's results?
Notice how everyone else has posted 5 players, oddly enough in accordance with the thread title?

Give us another 4 for ****'s sake, as opposed to one player from your own club.

So we should all just post a list with no discussion about them?

What's the point in that?

I haven't seen all the games played by every nominee so why should I pretend I am an expert on these kids?

I have however seen every LeCras game and am simply adding that he has had a wonderful year and is a chance for top 5

That's not too unreasonable is it?

So you don't know enough on any other player to throw up 4 more names, but you know enough to suggest LeCras could be in the Top 5?

You do realise that is completely illogical, right? To declare someone "Top 5" is in itself, a comparison.

5. Smith

Apologies to Boak, Smith, Le Cras, Hurn

Oh, and Leunberger to win next year's :)

No, I know plenty on the other players and I could give a rough guide but do you prefer an opinion based upon absolute facts or one on second hand knowledge?

Besides, I said he is a CHANCE to make top 5 from what I've seen, not a certainty. My knowledge on LeCras is better then the others and as such I can give a better view, yet still nothing certain

1. Selwood (easily)
2. Pendlebury (great season, got quite towards the end though)
3. Westhoff (the new Hoff)
4. Hurn (great in West Coasts defence)
5. N.Jones (one of the best for the 'not so lucky' club)

Honorable mentions: J.Smith, who has been solid in all of his games. Also LeCras for solving our 'small forward' problem, doesn't need alot of the ball to make a difference.

Whatever mate, it's all just opinion. You'll provoke a lot more discussion if you don't merely throw up any name from your own club, with no context for the selection.

Being out with a broken foot will do that. :p

Well I guess that sums up the differences in our posts, I aim to evoke discussion not provoke - that is generally troll behaviour

kudos to you for being ballsy enough to reveal your motives though :thumbsu:

As the only one who has failed to contribute anything meaningful to this thread, you'd be the one with the neon "troll" sign overhead.

Either way, when you give that speech, you're boring Springfield. Move on.

Interesting given I'm the only one to initiate a discussion on the topic rather then giving a mindless top 5.

perhaps you could have addressed my point rather then resort to personal attacks - but then that would be evoking, not provoking... silly me

You call me a troll and then tell me it's a "personal attack" when I suggest the troll is, in fact, you?

What are you, like, 5 years old?

Too bad if you think posting a Top 5 is "mindless". Perhaps you could start your own thread where people just name players from the club they support. I'm sure that would be compelling.

You are the one who aims to provoke - you said it yourself...how exactly is that not trolling?

What has my club got to do with it?

Do you deny he has had a very good year?

Why don't you think he will be top 5?

all are questions arising from my initial post that evoke discussion...

If you didn't want to engage in it, you didn't need to reply

I said "provoke discussion". I really can't be bothered explaining to you what that means. Maybe someone else will.

What has my club got to do with it?
Said discussion is enriched if people are capable of speaking objectively (or otherwise) on players from other teams.

Do you deny he has had a very good year?
No.

Why don't you think he will be top 5?
Because I think the five I've named are better. You can't say as much because you've only named one player.

all are questions arising from my initial post that evoke discussion...
The same questions could more easily be prompted by listing a number of players from different clubs, as you'll find not everybody here supports the same club. For instance, another poster might list his Top 5 and include an Eagles player, which might inspire you to make comment because you know something about your own team. See how that works?

If you didn't want to engage in it, you didn't need to reply
I created the thread, you're the respondent.

No.

What makes you think I am not being objective by suggesting he COULD make the top 5 when you, a rival supporter, admit he has had a very good year

Are you perceiving bias?

Even if nobody agrees with me, I never made any outlandish statements, it was simply a possibility

I didn't say you weren't being objective, I said you weren't capable of speaking about players from other teams... which thus far has proven true.

Ive seen enough to form an opinion, yet it is an incomplete one as most are, given I haven't seen all their games. Particularly the odd one of interest I've missed but heard about. I prefer to not sprout summations wily nilly... im not Robert Walls

some people may, fair enough - I have no gripe but I personally don't
