Glad Tigers played Judd when only 1/4 fit

Re: How did Judd go?

yeah i think most eagles supporters know he's been over rated for a couple of seasons now, so i'm interested to see how he's go in a below par midfield. I know its early days but I guess cox, kerr, cuz, etc made him look very good and carlton fans may have been expecting too much.

He was good without being sensational. A couple times you were expecting him to burst away from his opponents but didnt quite have the same pace. Will only get better though. And it did free up Murphy who was good along with Simpson.

I know its still early days but i wonder if he was thinking to himself after the game whether he chose the right club to go to
Unlikely, given the decision clearly wasn't based on football factors.

Even if he doesn't get much fitter, which is a realistic chance given what he's gone through, then this point alone will boost the Blues a fair bit.

Liked the look of Gibbs too, filled out nicely.

Re: How did Judd go?

He is allowed to run with the ball at his own will without bouncing the bloody thing. I know it's old and there's nothing we can do about it, but we have laws in the game and we should adhere to them, shouldn't matter if the player is Chris Judd or not. Before you say anything... tonight he got pinned for it, but most days he would get away with it scot-free.

Who else agrees?

He was pinged cause the umpire was in no position to say his view was impended and would have casued a riot as it happened in front of the tigers cheer sqaud. Had it been the other end...who knows? But christ is this guy the most protected species in the game? Richo almost gets his head knicked off and its "play on" chris judd gets merely touched and its a free to him.

At times i am waiting for the umpire to pull out their notepad and pens and ask him for an autograph.

It would be great if people could put aside their allegiances for one f****** second and admit that while he's obviously not 100% fit, he did some things that were a class above anyone else on the ground.People with any knowledge of footy would admit this, but its just a shit stirring site.

At least the author has a brain:thumbsu:

Hey no one is denying he is a great player..but we are just laughing at Carlton atm. They deserve as much ridicule as possible, especially money bags judd.

Hopefully he doesnt turn into a dudd at carltank!

:thumbsu:

WTF! Surely playing games is the best way to get fit?

Judd has already said he doesn't expect to be back to his best until at least half way through the season...
If you lack fitness and your not injured yes playing games is the best way to get your fitness back but if your sore and cant run at full pace or turn which is what Judd is feeling looking at the way he grimaced throughout the noght then he definately needs to rest it

Judd is not 100% and that is easy to see but when he got the pill he looked dangerous. He made most of the blues players look ordinary....even half fit. He will get them a handfull of wins off his own boot this year.

I couldn't give a stuff about Judd, and certainly not about Carlton, but I find this post amusing - mainly the bold. Judd was hailed by ALL Eagles supporters as the best footballer in the land, not to mention several suggestions of him being possibly the best ever. Few months later, Judd changes clubs, and all of a sudden WCE supporters claim they knew he was overrated etc. etc.?

Laughable.

He did alright tonight considering. He's clearly not close to 100% but still was effective. Showed tonight that if he can get back to full fitness, he's going to be lethal no matter what side he's playing in.

It's just 1 loss mate, getting ahead of yourself.

Not to mention that all he needs to do is check his bank statement to realise he went to the right club for him... :p

Let me get this straight, Judd still isn't 100% as a result of the injury he sustained at around midseason 2007?

I didn't miss an injury during his 2008 pre-season, did I? Because I'd be worried if Judd isn't 100% after 7 or 8 months.

Anyhow, Judd was okay tonight. Obviously injured but still showed great stuff in close and he made a lot of good decisions with his disposal.
