Glass didn't impress me at all yesterday. How he still gets rated up with the top full backs is baffling.

The funniest moment was when he charged Scott Pendlebury and laid a full blooded hip and shoulder. Pendles rode the bump, baulked, swung around and nailed a goal from 40.

Meanwhile Glass was on his arse, dazed and confused. :D

Classic.

I'm wondering if Glass is still feeling the affects of Barry Hall's love tap? He didn't impress me at all yesterday. How he still gets rated up with the top full backs is baffling.

yeah Zeke he is not playing that well in 2008.

All at WC would admit that. You may also not be aware that he is playing injured. Both he and Cox are no where near 100% fit.

Really both should be rested, but if we did that , would we be accused on tanking. Jest aside. It will be interesting to see if both of them finish the season out or they are sent in for surgery and rested for 2009. God knows 2008 is finished.

You should have had a look a Wakelin!

Anyone who Lynch kicks 3.2 on while rucking part time is a dead set hack.

Should have retired last year.

:D Zeke, I understand you mistaking Glass for Staker with the Barry Hall hit... Its not like the media gave it much coverage. :D

Well, WC can thank their lucky stars that Barry didn't belt Glass. Seeing him crumple after charging the lightly built Pendlebury causes me to wonder whether Glass would have been able tor ecover at all froma full blooded Barry jab.

It doesn't matter who you are, Matthew Scarlett, Ben Rutten even Stephen Silvani, if the midfield is being killed and the ball is coming down a million miles an hour with precision it's always going to be very tough for the full-back.

doesn't explain why he couldn't put pendles on his arse in a size mismatch. very weak effort

have to agree- that effort was pathetic, embarrassing and demoralizing.

not something want to see from your captain. appointing him was a huge mistake... key defenders have enough pressure as it is.

yeah he isnt playing well this year, no where near his form in 06 and 07, hopefully he can shake off his injury and beat forwards week after week again

Typical full back.

It's no coincidence that the highly rated full backs are usually playing in the top sides. Nearly all require the midfield to be applying the pressure upfield and also getting numbers back to help out. When this doesn't happen they start to look ordinary.

The fact remains nearly all Full Backs are footballers of the least talent in the team that weren't good enough to play forward.

I'm glad you used those words: "usually" and "nearly," because there are the exempt few, who are just genuine champions.

How many goals did his opponent get?

Cloke got 1 and Cox got 1.

Spent 95% of the match on Cox despite Cloke being Collingwood's only key forward and performing excellently. When breifly opposed to him, Cloke slipped him far too easily to get his goal, and Cox beat him on the lead to get his.

Also had the incident, when the Eagles were fighting back some momenteum and instead of tackling Scott Pendlebury running in to goal he thought he'd bump him, fall hopelessly to the ground, and allow an unfazed Pendles to stroll into an open goal. A demoralizing moment for the whole side, and yet another instance of his inability as captain.

Then, Worsfold, instead of opting to show some resolve and end the match postively benched his captain and left his youngsters to the sword, whilst the bloke who should be captain, Dean Cox continued to do his all for his team.

Was basically obsolete all afternoon, looked lost and directionless indicative of the state of his team.

Yesterday summed up what has been a horrible year to date for the front- runner.

Glass is carrying an injury I'd say guys...

Nathan Thompson today said that he was able to run away from Glass a few weeks back, and was surprised...Thommo admits he's not the quickest bloke after doing his knee so was surprised to put some metres between himself and Glass.

When fit, I'd say he's still an excellent full-back...
