Autopsy goal loss vs *Essendon

We are not far off, the list just has a few to many holes in it still. The day we dont have to rely on jz and hall we are a netter team. And thats not a pot on those blokes either, we simply are not far enough into the build yet. we now have the midfield depth to cover LDU but thats not the same as not missing him as he is a ripper. Compare that to * who were pretty much full strength today. Also For the first time i are thinking CCJ just may be a player??
Thought CCJ was good against the swans as well.

Thanks for bringing us down to your level.

A+ for effort guys.
Thanks for bringing us down to your level.
You’ve been terrible for so long you literally don’t a single bit of winning mindset In your dna.
That was your only chance and you fluffed it. But hey, another top 2 pick should do the job.
Sooner you merge with tassie the better the league will be.
Enjoy the week
We play again this year **** head. Might send you out of the 8 and another 3,000 days before another finals win. Oh, also. We laugh because Bradd Scott has no plan B. He hasnt changed. No promise land for you campaigners whilst he’s in charge. HAHAHA

There is a stark contrast in drive, intensity and class between many of our experienced players against our youth and traded in players. Can only mean good things.

Sucks that we lost, but considering our in-game losses and long injury list, I couldn't be happier with how our kids stood up. We all know the negatives and the players that won't be around next finals series, but today is about Phillips, Wardlaw, Sheezel, Spicer, Thomas, CCJ, Bergman, Fordy and co., taking the mantle from their experienced brethren.

Not reading all that, go win a final dork 🤣

Some big picture type positives to buoy those really frustrated or annoyed:

1. Wardlaw, Phillips and Tarryn aren't where they need to be fitness-wise and will all go up another couple of levels once they build a base. Thought all 3 were awesome today.

2. Two of our most experienced ball winners were out by half time and we were down 1 on the bench for the second half.

2. We had the largest injury list going into this weekend and after the concussions to Simpkin and Greenwood, I'm assuming we're still at #1. If not, we'd be second behind West Coast. So we've been super competitive for 3 weeks with about 15 guys on our injury list.

3. Our best player hasn't been injury free since Round 3 and has missed the last couple weeks through injury.

4. We get Brayden George next year.

5. We'll add at least one more elite talent at the draft.

6. Ben McKay was back to his best. I want him to stay, but if he goes we should be compensated well.

A lot to be excited about.
7. Our interchange counting was vastly improved.

Any really elite half back ball users early in the coming draft? i feel like it's clearly our biggest need, especially with the ball movement style that we're trying to implement. Too often we're let down by relying on guys to be our playmakers who just arent equipped to do it.

Enjoy your rebuild in 5-6 years time when Brad Scott thinks your close and ****s your list.

That list with Scott at the helm spells never good enough.

Akin to the Sydney and Pies games, I am far more happier than disappointed. The kids are really driving the improvement and the difference in standards is quite stark and exciting.

Essendon are crap . They shouldn’t be high 5ing after that game . We had 2 down . Our mid field wasn’t our best . I know we lost we can’t seem to get any satisfaction at all . The umpires were crap in that last 4 minutes . Laverde nuff said . We had them cold . But anyway that’s how it goes . **** you AFL ..

God it was annoying seeing * supporters carry on like they won they won the flag. The only other supporter group I've seen carry on like that this year, was Carlton on Good Friday.
2 utter rabbles of football clubs that are going absolutely nowhere. We'll scream past them in the next 12 months.

As I've said before, the wheel is turning and better times are ahead. We just need a win to ease the tension in those close finishes.

Wardlaw is unbelievable. The attack on the ball he brings has been elite from the word go. Real Joel Selwood vibes in how a young bloke comes in and drags a team with him.

Buckets was back to his best. All upstairs for that bloke and his brother. Hope he stays, but anything less than first round compo we match and force a trade.

Will Phillips has arrived as an AFL footballer, a big GAGF to anyone who doubted him. Know from experience how much glandular fever can wreck you physically. He just needed time to rebuild his fitness and he still has plenty of room for improvement.

Very good game.
Lucky to get away with the win in the end.

Your young mids really stepped up when needed.

McKay leaving at the end of the year to chase success will set you back a little bit.

McKercher (Tas) has leg speed to burn as a HB.

I'm sorry, what?

Scream past 6th very quickly. Holy * you blokes are older and so much dumber than us.
Running around like you’ve won a flag after three wins over bottom four teams. First finish inside the top six at the end of a round in ten years and you’re going nowhere while you can’t defend.

Now **** off.

Give you the hot Tip soup. Jy isnt in our best starting Midfield.

I posed this question in the gameday thread and didn't really get a response, so I'll try again here. Is it acceptable in this day and age to use the term nuff nuff? If not, I have no way of describing the crowd around me today.
It's a tough one. A nuffy can be both someone without knowledge of someone with a particular interest in one topic.

**** me they made the Carlton crowd seem like they all had doctorates

Wardlaw, LDU, Simpkin, Thomas, Phillips, Sheezel.
Scott and Ford on the wings.

Nice young midfield group. Maybe Goater grows into a role, too. And lets see who we draft this year.
We looked better when Shiels went into the mid to cover Merret and Ford was back on the wing. Pls don't play Ford forward again, he's a winger now, let him make it his own.
